pictures not visible in chat forum

I had some PC problems recently and now find (usingIE&) that I cannot see posted pictures in some forums. it's doubly strange because I see the avatars. I'm also running Malwarebytes.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like the IE8 Mime types have been corrupted

It's in one or two online forums, I don't see any posted photos. Sometimes the file title will appear. It's restricted to a couple of American sites. Previously I had no bother with them. I've tried asking the site Admin without success (maybe they're on holiday, or my system is filtering their replies?)

You may be able to get direct access even though the hotlink is barred. May I suggest copying the image url and pasting direct in your url window?
