New laptop - new password !!!

Absolutely bl**dy perfect !!!

Returned hoem with new laptop this afternoon - somehow I have given it a mispelt password which now won't let me back in.

I've tried every version I can think of - the keyboard is a slightly different layout and i suspect i've pressed a wrong key somewhere (obvioulsy twice !!)

Any suggestions please ?

that Offline NT Password and Registry Editor (linked to from the page referred to in the last post) now works OK with Win7, so as long as you have access to another machine to download and burn the CD image ISO file then you should be able to resolve this quickly

Offline Windows Password & Registry Editor

To restore the system to factory state, most Win7 or Vista machines require you to use the F8 key at startup, choose "repair my computer" from the menu, and then get into the recovery routine from there. Problem is, to do that you have to log in using the forgotten password.

Thank you all - sorted - excellent utility (one that is now safely tucked away in store for any future similar crisis)

Does 24 hours in the freezer do anything ? (No silly answers please, I'm wondering if it's still a way to delete info stored in IC's).
