A bit more info will be necessary...

First question - are you talking about the password on an e-mail account that you view in Outlook? If so, you probably need to work with your ISP or e-mail account provider to change it.

Call your ISP and get them to reset it.

It is not possible to recover a password in Outlook, and even if it were, it would still remain quicker for you to call your ISP than to figure out and follow any instructions posted here.

What is "the password on Outlook running on Vista" please? Are we perhaps talking about a .pst password - in which case you can spend all day chatting to your ISP in Mumbai and get nowhere?

There are a number of 'little programs' that will happily recover the password from an Outlook .pst file. Have done it a number of times.

In the true manner of PPRuNe, if you want them, you will have to gooooooogle for them yourself.

Nirosft have a free program called Mail PassView which will extract the passwords from most e-mail accounts including Outlook
Mail PassView: Password recovery for Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Windows Mail, and more...

You can also crack open the password from an Outlook PST file using another of their tools - PST-Password
