Losing recent documents
My wifes laptop, using Vista premium, keeps losing the recent documents when clicking on the entry in the start list. You just get the complete documents listing not the most recent 10 or so. Why? It's driving my wife potty.

Sorry to hear about Mrs TS.
On the right hand pane of the start menu you should have, among a load of other items, "Documents" and "Recent Items"
If you select Documents you will get all Mrs TS documents.
If you hover over Recent Items you should see a list of her recent docs.
If Recent Items is missing from the start menu.
Right click in a blank area of the start menu and then select properties. Select the Start Menu tab and then under "privacy" put a tick in the Store and display a list of recently opened files box.
Select Apply and OK.

If you right click on Recent Items and select properties what does the location show?
It should be:
C:\Users\Mrs TS\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows
In any event if you navigate to that folder you will find the folder Recent Items.
You can drag and drop that folder into the start menu. (It will appear on the left hand side) It will then be available to use as you require. Bit of a bodge but it will work OK
