Playing DVDs on Satellite Pro using b****y Vista

Bit of assistance required:

Cannot play DVD using a projector with default Toshiba DVD. Cannot play DVD at all with Windows Media Player or Realplayer. DVD is sourced from a video tape converted to DVD format.

Have downloaded Roxio Codecs but file would not open due "corrupt" despite several attempts.

Any clues?

Try playing it with VLC or MPlayer - failing that, G Spot might be able to find out if it it is indeed a missing codec problem.

Try here for a free virtual DVD player. Works for me. To quote from the blurb (saving you from ploughing through the site) "Support for a very wide variety of video formats: apart from regular DVD (PAL, NTSC, VCD, SVCD) formats, also supported are: the entire range of MPEG4 (including DivX, XviD, etc.), MPEG1, MPEG2, AVI, Real Media video, Quick Time files, WMV files (including WMV-HD), H.263, H.264, mobile video formats (3GP, 3GP2, MP4).
This strong compatibility makes AVS DVD Player a universal player."

I don't think this constitutes advertising 'cos it is a free unrestricted download.

Thanks, both. Bern, your suggested player works very well.
