Recording CD to CD Difficulties

Of a sudden, I'm having problems recording back-ups of my CDs on Easy CD Creator (for my own use, of course!). Tonight, I've tried to copy two CDs. The application starts scanning the CD, and then hangs, on both CDs I've tried, whilst scanning Track 9.

I don't think that it's copy protection problem, since one of the CDs is rather old, and obscure.

Anyone got any clues as to what's hapenning?

If you have two optical (CD/DVD) drives, try creating the image file with the other drive first to eliminate a hardware issue.

You could also try another software package to creat the image file, Easy CD-DA extractor works well in my experience, just extract the audio files to MP3 format and burn from there.

Hope this helps.

Tosh McCaber,

When you create an ISO of the CD, use the CD-RW Drive. You will have a better chance of getting a good ISO from the CD-RW Drive vs a usually much cheaper CD/DVD-ROM Drive.

I only put one Optical Drive in my comps. I always create and then burn from an ISO. (It takes a little longer but works better in the long run.)

Take Care,

Richard

P.S. If you are having problems making "Backups" of your CDs, try Golden Hawk Technology's CDRWIN.
