Can one work with a Canadian CPL in Argentina?
Hi. Can one work with a Canadian license in Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Mexico and basically all the Latin American countries? I know the conversion to the Argentine's has to be done, but I do not know if one has to have the citizenship to be allowed to fly/command and aircraft. If so, is that the case of all Latin American countries?

In Brazil you would need to convert your license and become a citizen. I'm pretty sure that Argentina has similar restrictions.
Most countries down here follow similar rules, but there are exceptions so you need to check country by country. Chile may be more open, but I don't know for sure.
Some of the smaller countries do allow non-nationals to fly commercially, hopefully Flyingswiss will comment as he know where it can be done.

Most of the flying done will have to be on a argentinian registered aircraft, and for that you will need an argentinian CPL. Most countries will not convert a commercial or ATP License into a Commercial or ATP, they will go straight to PPL. Most countries require work permits in order to be able to fly and get commercial licenses. If indeed you find a canadian registered aircraft flying in Argentina and they are willing to help you with the work permit then yes, otherwise a big no-no

About Panama
In the Republic of Panama to fly privately, and commercially you need to have a Panamanian license if you wish to fly aircraft with Panamanian tail numbers. In essence if you wish to fly for Copa you need your original Canadian license, make the conversion to Panamanian license and also get the required work permits.
Even Panamanians that went to study overseas must come back to Panama and make the conversion.
Bottom line is if you want to fly a Panamanian registered aircraft, you need a Panamanian license and you also must comply with all the legal requirements put in place by the government, work permit, immigration card, etc.

Hi guys,
For Peru you'll need a proper DGAC license AND you gotta go threw the hole process again CPL IFR theory exam, flight test, ICAO language skill etc etc.
In addition to this you'll need:
-a work permit or PR with 2 years at least living in the country.
-or get married with a peruvian
A lot of paper work to get done, it took me about 6 months with the PR.

You need to be an Argentine citizen in order to fly for the airlines in Argentina.

"ARTICULO 106. – En los servicios de transporte aéreo el personal que desempeña funciones aeronáuticas a bordo deberá ser argentino. Por razones técnicas la autoridad aeronáutica podrá autorizar, excepcionalmente, un porcentaje de personal extranjero por un lapso que no excederá de dos años a contar desde la fecha de dicha autorización, estableciéndose un procedimiento gradual de reemplazo del personal extranjero por personal argentino."
