Portuguese translation needed

Could someone from perhaps Brasil pleas translate some text from an accident report for me?

1. O piloto saiu ileso do acidente;

2. O piloto interpretou estes sinais como se se tratasse de uma falha de motor e recolheuos flaps, aumentando a atitude de nariz em cima da aeronave;

Thank you

My attempt - only subtly different

1. The pilot escaped unharmed from the accident

2. The pilot interpreted these signs as being due to the failure of the engine
and retracted the flaps, increasing the attitude of the nose "above the
aircraft."

3. It was not possible to determine the cause of the extinguishing of the
landing lights, nor was any damage to the engine detected or to the
indications of its operation, it was confirmed that the engine was still
working after the landing. It is accepted that the likely cause was an
inadvertent action by the pilot, under the effect of fatigue caused by the
long duration of the flight and the late hour of the day.

Not good English but that is a pretty literal translation - it is actually not very good Portuguese either!
