FAA IPC in Canada

Good afternoon everyone, I Just finished my FAA-TC commercial conversion, however to convert my IR i need to do an FAA IPC prior....does anyone know of any FAA CFIIs who I can contact in Canada to do the IPC? TC said it can be an approved FTD. (I'm located in Brandon, Manitoba but willing to fly/drive to another province if needed). A friend of mine recommended me ask here - did a search, but all the threads on this topic that I found were 2+ years old.

Would have preferred to cross the US border south but my US visa expired earlier up in the year.

Many thanks in advance,
Xavier

AFAIK
Most FAA 'approved' check airmen in Canada are limited by Part 142 regs. In other words, restricted to whatever training organization they are employed by as TCEs. If you aren't on an 'approved' program at a 142 training center that has an 'approved' FAA TCE, then you'd most likely have to head to Minny or N. Dakota to an FAA school to accomplish your goal. 142 Check Airmen (TCEs) can't check 'at large' with their TCE authority. It's as simple as that.
Others out here may have a more accurate opinion than mine.
Good luck,

Willie

I quite interested in this subject too, going to do my convertion next year.
You don't need a Check Airmen, just CFII would be enough.

I'm instructing in Southern Alberta and went to the trouble of getting an FAA CFI-II-ME however it is now over two years and I need to do a "reinstatement" ride in order to be able to do IPC's for those who hold an FAA Licence. If I have a few expressions of interest, I can speak to the boss about visiting a neighbour south of the border.
Not far by air but a 5 hour drive.

That IPC will also renew a Canadian IPC.

I would like to hear from anyone in the Prairies who has a need for an FAA IPC close by.

The school here has several multies and a Sim that is good for an IPC.

If you hold an Australian licence, the IPC will require an Oral portion to be completed back in Australia.

Send me a pm
