RPL flight training near Fernie, B.C.
Hey there,
I'm relocating to Fernie for 6 months and wanted to know if there's any flight training schools near the town.
Thanks!

Flying Schools near Fernie? No.
Sparwood/Elk Valley Airport (CYSW), Cranbrook (CYXC), Creston (CAJ3), and Castlegar (CYCG) don't seem to list Flying Schools, However, Nelson, (CZNL), may have one. Check out Kootenay Lake Aviation:
Nelson Airport - CZNL | Learn to Fly
It may be closer for you to drive to Lethbridge, AB (CYQL) which does have a flying school. http://flywithexcel.com/
Keep in mind the next 6 months may involve 5 months of winter, so driving through the Crowsnest Pass may be a factor.
In fair weather, driving from Fernie to Nelson takes approximately 3 hrs and 45 mins, at a distance of 326 km.
Driving from Fernie to Lethbridge takes approximately 2 hrs and 25 mins, at a distance of 218 km.

If you have your own plane, Streamline Aviation can train you in Cranbrook under a freelance environment. There is a Tomahawk, 172, and a Warrior there that are split into tiny shares so you can buy into one for not very much outlay and pay less per hour than renting from a school.
