Canjet suspending ops
CanJet cancelling all flights, suspending ops effective immediately.
CBC My Region - CanJet, Halifax-based airline, to suspend flight operations indefinitely

Very sad outcome for this feisty air carrier. Many jobs available for the aircrew though most are not in North America.
Sincerely hope staff can successfully gain employment.

He says the company will continue to run, but will explore business options as they become available.
Hopefully they can either sell the entire company or save face a little. Main issue with Canjet had always been they chose the most competitive and expensive airport to fly out of - Toronto, and they thought they could out-do AC WJ and AT. Hamilton or Waterloo would've saved them a lot and if Canadians are willing to go to Buffalo for cheap sun travel, these airports would've made sense and definitely would've been cheaper fares.
If you're going to compete with AC WJ and AT who have high load factors, you better be cost effective. Like Sunwing, who have an amazing way to package great cheap deals, there's no room to compete out of Toronto anymore unless you partner with a US airline or something. Canjet should've differentiated.
