Francesco Fornabio - Fatal - Air Show Crash Italy

I've put this in the Canadian Forum for the hell of it.

It's a tragic number that is never ending reminder
of the realities of life especially to those who wish to stay alive.

Hopefully someone will fill us in on how and why this accident occurred.

This is a video taken from one of his goPro the day before the accident, on saturday, same place, same program...

Italy mourns the death of Francesco Fornabaio
Written by Snap&Roll

The aerobatic and air show pilot Francesco Fornabio died during an air show on Sunday 21st after his plane crashed into the ground. He was performing a spin with his XA-41 for the “Fly Venice” air show hold at Nicely airport (Italy).

According to the preliminary reports and witnesses, the accident occurred when the plane continued to descend uncontrollably up to the point where it crashed into the beach area of Sant Nicolo.

“L’Agenzia nazionale per la sicurezza del volo”, the national safety agency, will carry out an investigation to determine the possible causes of the accident together with the Police and the firefighters.

Fornabio aged 57 was born in Sitgliano (Matera) and raised in Milan. He used to train in the province of Udine, in Campoformido. He was considered one of the most experienced aerobatic pilots in Italy and a symbol of the Italian school. His Friends, fans, and supporters posted on his Facebook wall a lot of sorrow and disbelief messages, expressing condolences. Fornabio was very specialized in the freestyle modality and he won the Italian championship this year in the unlimited category. He was a member of the Italian national aerobatics since 2002.

Thanks to his amazing skills and affection received from the public, Fornabaio was elected in 2010 to represent the prestigious aviation watch-maker Breitling in numerous international air shows and events.
