The best Flight School in Ontario?

Hi guys,

I am EU citizen but from some time I am thinking about moving to Canada, Ontario (preferably Toronto area). I really like this country and I started to wonder - are there any flight schools there similar to our CTC Wings, FTE Jerez etc. that, though are more expensive, reduce the risk of future unemployment? Perhaps some of them have contacts with local airlines and offer mentored or part-sponsored schemes?

Forget it if you don't have the right to live and work in Canada.

Canada is not Europe, it's a totally different environment and as far as I know there are university schemes with Air Canada. Give a look at Seneca College, but it is needless unless you have the right to live and work in Canada.

Captain Bradley, your question is a bit like asking "How long is a piece of string?". One of the posters replied with two recomends, his profile shows he has not yet gained even a PPL, he may be a simply spendid chap, but I doubt that he has wide experience in assesing the merits of various Flight Training Units. May I sugest that you do your own in depth research and ignore any places which show grining young boys and girls with four huge gold bars posing in the left seat of a shiny jet! As stated by a previous poster, North America is nothing like Europe when it comes to flight training, good luck to you!

Stay away from Brampton Flying Club. It used to be first class but it's gone way downhill according to my friend who switched to Island Air.

Rotornut, maybe your friends feelings got hurt by an instructor informing him/her that they made a mistake? I know how catastrophic that is in today's society. So maybe they told you that story so they didn't have to tell you the truth? Brampton is still very much a TOP training organization?

Any recommendations/comments on flight schools in or around Muskoka? Like the O.P. I am EU based, but spend a lot of time in Canada. However, I have no interest in earning my crust by flying. I am looking for a flight school to do a PPL - Canada is much more interesting to fly over than lands of the eastern shores of the Atlantic.

I am not a Canadian but, to my knowledge I know that you can apply to relocate to Canada under skilled work. If you access Canadian Immigration online, you will find there is a lot of information given on how to migrate to Canada. They need people all the time especially people with professions. Even those who do not have profession, the unskilled workers, do migrate to Canada and Australia. There is a requirement about the money you should have, and it is affordable if you have been working. It is not exorbitant at all.
Don't be discouraged. Give it ago.
