Hi, don't mean to sound like an ogre but getting a work Visa as a pilot in Canada is almost virtually impossible due to the huge surplus of pilots here. The only way to work as a pilot here is by acquiring a Permanent Resident Status, which can be a long process. You can check it out here

Good Luck

Question

Gnote, So why is it that the occupation of pilot appears in the Canadian Governments required occupation list?

The Pilot Occupation is on the list to assess points used for immigration purposes. I believe that an airline pilot scores 15 while a computer programmer scores in the high 30's.

For a work visa, the process is quite different. If an employer wants to hire a foreign worker, he or she must first contact Human Resources Canada. The good folks at H.R. then will conduct a process with the employer to first find suitable Canadian candidates by advertising for the position and so forth. The whole process will take up to three months. Only if there are no Canadians or Permanent Residents available can a Visa will be issued. Any Canadian on this site can back the fact there are absolutely no shortages of pilots of any every level in this country.
