Calling all Emirates crew(Dubai based)
Guys,
I am due to fly out to Dubai for a holiday on Friday and was just wondering what the situation in Dubai is tat the moment. The foreign office is saying there is a higher risk of terrrorism but that it is still ok to go.
Are the flights going over half empty? Would you go?
All help would be gratefully received.
Cheers

It's perfectly safe in Dubai. Just expect to find added security and a bit more queuing at the airports.
Flight loads are going reasonably OK on some carriers, although loads are definitely down. EK for example, still have enough traffic to justify maintaining full schedules at the moment. No reductions yet. QR loads are a bit down, but also due to season than solely the Iraq situation.
I am heading back home (to Dubai) in a few days from London and am not in the least bit concerned. Most flights will route down across Egypt and thus well away from the "action".
My honest opinion and advice is to go ahead with your holiday. Let me know through Private Messaging if there is ay elp you need whe you get here. Where are you staying?
Who are you flying with?

I am staying with friends in a nice flat on Sheikh Zayed? Road. I have been out there loads of times before and this time we are pricipally going for the Gold Cup.
We are flying with Emirates and at the moment they are offering full refunds (in the form of vouchers). I am still a bit undecided, especially as the US foreign office is advising all their nationals to leave. However, it is good to know that there are still Brits flying out there
