Lightbulb How can I become flight attendant for BA?

Hi everyone. I was just reading the comments earlier about why someone would want to be a flight attendant and I really loved the responses that you guys gave. It gave a real insight in the life of an FA. This is only something that I can imagine and dream for. You guys are really really lucky. You have seen the whole world and experienced many different things. Youve seen it all.

Anyways the reason for my posting is that I really want to become a Cabin crew member. I know that is a common question that is asked on this forum and one which you may be board of. However I really could do with your help and encouragement.

I am a 20 year old student, studying law at university in England. I have only one year remaining to complete my degree. Although I am a student I have always had the ambition since I was 13 that I wanted to become a Cabin crew member. I have travelled very frequently in my life and so understand some of the work and duties of a cc. I am only doing a degree as a back up career, if I dont make it as a cc.

I have already applied to British Airways for cabin crew, a year ago. I attended the assesment day, which included an interview and various assesments. However I was not given the job, which dissapointed me greatly as I believed I gave the best I could at the assesment.

I have only applied to work with British Airways and no-one else. My reason being that I beleive BA to the a great premier Britisg company, which is the envy of the world and one of the worlds largest and respected airlines. I would be priviliged and honoured to work for such a company. I havent applied to work for other airlines such as charter companies, low cost carriers or even Virgin atlantic I will not be motivated enough to do well for anyoen apart from BA. This may not be much of a reason, but I would rather not work as A CC with any other British airline apart from BA.

I am aware that I cannot apply for another couple of months for Cabin crew.
I have recently contacted BA to see if they would be recruiting in the near future, and I was told that they would not. My concern is therfore, if BA plan to recruit anymore Flight attendants at all. I am aware that BA is replacing its larger plans with smaller aircraft, therefore this would result in a smaller number of crew members being used on the flights. Therefore I am quite concerned if BA will be making existing crew redundant rather that employing new people.

I would really appreciate it if anyone could tell me if BA is likely to recuite in the future. Although my concern is aimed at BA flight attendants I would appreciate recieving comments from anyone else in other airlines who can give me any advice on how to make it into a cabin crew. I am of ethnic origin, so could this be a factor. I am sorry for making this such a long message, but I am real serious in becoming a FA and can only dream of doing the things that you guys do for a living. Also just out of interest what is your guys favourite city in the whole world.

Many Thanks
