North American Market

Hi guys,

Can anyone give me the low down on a typical months wages in one of the larger US carriers? I am considering going over as I have dual citizen ship and some family in Boston, just wondering if the experience is worth the money?

Any help would be greatly received
Cheers

Hi!!!

I don't know if i'd feel secure in joining an airline in the US, they all seem a little shakey and seem to be dropping from the industry like flies! Your call i guess.

Go investigate Jet Blue - stay away from older majors - huge paycuts being announced everyday and furloughs

Dropping like flies? Please name one US carrier that is no longer in operation (and not TWA, they were acquired before 9/11 by AA). Actually, the LCC's and more recent startups are more in trouble than the majors. ATA just filed chapter 11, and Independence Air is next.

Southwest and Continental are good choices. At NWA, the 9 year monthly pay is approx (rough estimate) $3000.00 US.
As of Jan 2005, we will have recalled almost all of our furloughed FA's and another 450 pilots are scheduled to be recalled also.

Many of the regional carriers are hiring also. American Eagle, Mesaba, Pinnacle, and many more. Check out www.FlightAttendants.org there's always lots of info on airline hiring and help from other active FA's. Good Luck!
