Airlines in Oz, what are they like to work for?

Hi all,

I'm pretty new here and I hope this is the right room to post this question, but what are DJ like to work for? A friend of mine has just got Cabin Superviser based in BNE and I was just intrigued as to what she's in for. Money, trips, crew, whats it all like? I've flown with them a couple of times as a pax and never had a problem.

I'm ex cabin crew (9years in UK) and would like to return to the skies again and it'll be a while before I'm a permanent resident, so I know I have to wait until I can even be considered seriously.

Can anyone tell what QF or AO are like to work for too? I know competition is fierce, seems like it anyway, but I would like to get my feet in the door here eventually.

Thanks in advance guys/gals.

Australian Carriers based in BNE

Sunstate Airlines aka Qantaslink Dash 8s
Impulse Airlines aka Qantaslink Boeing 717s - They have a South East QLD base which covers BNE and Gold Coast

Alliance Airlines (Fokker 100)
VirginBlue
Qantas
I think Sunshine Express is as well

Well, I can tell you that I have flown for several airlines, I now fly for QF Longhaul.

It is simply the best airline to work for.... great pay, conditions, people. I have so much fun on my trips, it rarely seems like work.

Not too sure about QF shorthaul or regional. But have friends in Shorthaul, and they seem to love it.

I dont know anyone who works for DJ, but havent heard much bad about them either.

As for this airline Venture_Executive is going on about .... well I will bare my b@lls in Business Class if that ever gets off the ground

Thanks Q-Tee, happy flying and send my love to London......ah..home

With QF/DJ/AO, Jetstar & Rex, is there really any more room for another airline in Australia?

I'm not desperate to return as CC although I'd like to but I'm a patient man and the time will come when it's meant to be..I'm happy doing other things and having a break from it. If I were still back home, I know exactly where I'd be (workwise).

Talking Interviews

We will start doing F/A interviews in Sydney this week or next. We are not taking any more applicants except through the Pacific Southwest Engineering Pty Ltd site careers section at the moment (www.pacificsouthwestengineering.com.au) and will shortly be running the advert in The Australian for the holding company (the new Ansett Limited).
