It's pretty amazing that you've gotten to the final round 5 times. Singapore Air is a tough customer to please. No tips from me, just a reminder that what you've achieved is pretty amazing anyway. :ok:

I can't help with Singapore I'm afraid as I have no experience with them, but I thought the following might cheer you up.
When I joined BA 30 years ago there was a shy young man on my course who had tried 19 times to get into BA, and failed. He was distraught, and decided to give it a 20th go. Voila! Success....he is now a very well respected CSD, and has had a fabulous career. I am proud to call him a friend.
Never give up!

AirborneSoon 25th Mar 2008 21:43

Well I don't know how helpful this is, but I saw a doco about SIA and recruitment and it was said that they are looking for people who are natural hostesses..quote "you can't train people to serve others". Add to that the Asian influence and I think it's a different definition than we might think. Probably more focused on harmony than leadership, maintaining the status quo etc...

Of course this is just my interpretation and frankly could be way off base.

Thank you ..

guys advised ..i wont give up so easily now i will keep trying until i get the job no matter how hard is it ...:D

SQ

I have just written you a long long reply and the computer lost the whole thing. I can't help you get in but I can give you some pointers. Message me if you want. To have gotten this far you must have something SQ likes and if I know the sing. chinese it is tenacity.
Are you a guy or a girl?
Remember that guys have about 1 chance in 1000 because of the Singapore Girl ethos.
At what point of the process are you being rejected?

**CREW SLAVE** do not take this in the wrong way, I know you are posting comments only and not writing a resume but use language and vocabulary like that and you won't get through the first door.

galley_operator 28th Mar 2008 08:29

when..?

hi crew slave when is the next interview are you going to attend .?

and where the interview going to held ..? plesase let me know asap

olvirsson 28th Mar 2008 09:42

English !

I was born and raised in Singapore -- and I know SQ culture because I have 1 captain and 1 first officer in my family at SQ

They are the choosiest, pickiest most inflexible people to get a job with. Every applicant to SQ is exactly a "Book That Will Be Judged By Its Cover."

Say "dun do that" instead of "don't do that..." SQ won't even reply to your application. I sound harsh but you guys are trying out for the world's TOUGHEST airline. I wish you all the luck in Asia - I was born in Singapore, have 2 degrees, speak Mandarin and Malay and reasonable Japanese. I have to live in HK and fly for someone else because I am not ethnically Asian .... I have every other skill that SQ needs, likes and wants and if I was that horrible the airline I do fly for wouldnt have me but that's the way it is. Singaporean demands are sky high.

Singapore Airlines or other

Hello!

I am new here in this forum and tried to find out any information about getting a job as a flight attendant with Singapore Airlines. I didn't find too much.

May I kindly ask anyone here for any information? I come from BKK and my favourite airline to start as Flight Attendant (no experience) would be Singapore Airlines. Can you recommend this and can you tell me what requirements there are for application? How many languages do I have to speak? And how long would be initial ground course for training? How is work there?

Or do you advise me another airline rather than Singapore Airlines? Maybe better stay in Thailand with Thai, but I would like to move to see something new...

Thank you very much for your help.

Hi,
Anyone attending the interview assessment on the 16th January? I'll be attending.
I had a lower grade of english result on my SPM. Would they particularly judge on my SPM instead of getting us another examination during the interview?

This might help. Although it's not free.

Ex-SIA Cabin Crew Executive Luke Tan's Blog.

Can't believe classes are held for this things.:)

Flapping 10th May 2010 11:40

I'm ex SQ from the good ole days and believe me, alot of people cannot visualise what the Singapore Cabin Crew image is. The classes will definitely help.
I've coached a friend, who had to fly to London to attend a BA cabin crew interview and I used everything that I have learnt, seen and experience when I was flying for SQ...and she got into BA first try.
Attitude is everything!!
