Does anyone have any advice on what I should do
Hi doll, I applied for Melb base. Where did you go for?

Because I applied internally, I recieved an automated confirmation email from workday to my work email (as it's all linked), I don't think you should worry because the email just says that it will take a couple of weeks for them to start going through all the applications. I only submitted mine on Monday as well so fairly later in the process.

Thannk you HDSD, I got a hold of an email of a lady in the ructuitment section who confirmed they have my application. So even though you weren't stressing haha I'm sure they have yours too.

Yes any tips of the video interview would be great, what question did you get asked?

Hi HDSD,
I have flown
There were only 3 actual video-response questions... you get 30 seconds prep time for a question and I believe it was 2 or 3 minutes to answer- no retakes- but you can take your time before continuing to the next question in between. Go into it with a customer service focus. There is also a written response and some generic multiple choice, all of which as just confirming things like right to work.

Good Luck

And just for everyone- I never received a confirmation email. The interview invitation was an email generated by HireVue, which hosts the video interview. I also got a confirmation email from Hire View once QF had received my interview. Nothing changed on my Workday, still just 'in progress'. Hope this helps.

Mel base QCCA

Hi everyone
I'm new here, I've applied for Mel base on Monday and haven't received any confirmation email or any online interview yet. How long after you guys submitted your applications received the online interview link and does anyone has any ideas of any upcoming dates for the ground school?
What is the online interview about?
I never had this stage of interview in my previous employment.
I really appreciate your advices about this online interview thing.
Thnksss

I believe no one has received any confirmation email once they applied for QCCA in the recent advertisement, correct me if I am wrong. Normally about a week or so you will receive a thanks but no thanks email or a email to say you have been progressed to the next stage. It can take longer, really just depends. I think some crew who have just got it start ground school next month. But no factual start dates for future ground school, rumour has it ground schools are planned for June/July. Just give it your best shot on the video interview. Good Luck

Hi Naxnax,

I've also applied for Melb base too, so hopefully we will meet at an assessment day soon (if we're lucky!)
I have spoken to a few person who currently work for qantas and also in this thread. The recruitment process is so long so if we are successful it's very unlikely that we would be attending ground school this year, more like start/ middle of next year
I was also told a lot of the new recruiting is for the Dreamliner...
I think that if you have flown before you receive a video interview sooner, but hopefully we get an email next week x

Hi Bonniehealy
I hope that we both make it to the next stage. But as I understood from other people it's a really long process!!! As some just starting the ground school in May after 1 year from the date that they've applied. I have flown before for international airlines but the process was different and took around 4 months but every airline is different, do you know what kind of questions are in online interview I believe that's the important part of the recruitment so we have to pass that to get to the AD! I never done the online interview and have no idea what to expect.
I really hope to see you soon!! haha
Good luck xx

If I remeber right the questions in the video interview are based around give me a time when something when wrong how did you deal with it.. or something along the lines of that. There was about 5 questions and there are practice questions aswell can you can do over and over before you do your video interview

Congratultions & Goodluck!

Congratulations to those starting Ground School in Sydney soon!

I am still patiently waiting for my background and security check to be completed after applying in May 2016. Lets hope all those still waiting receive some exciting news soon!

Good luck to those who have just applied for the recent intake. For the video interviews I just suggest having some examples ready from current/previous employers to explain how you have dealt with certain situations, showcasing your ability and how you will be an asset to Qantas. I had some notes next to me, and did a few practice questions first as it was a bit strange at first talking to myself and seeing my reflection on the screen! Good luck!

I was just wondering if anyone knew where the crew will be based for the new Perth to London route? If that was something crew in Syd/Mel would have a shot at? Or whether it will be London crew operating.

I'm in the background and security process too! I'm waiting on my final tick (final Qantas security clearance status) and then of course the card ready for printing tick but I don't think we need that to go through to the medical stage. Are you just waiting on the last tick too? What base did you apply for?

Hepatitis A
Hepatitis B
Varicella
Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)

If not sure what shots you've had you can get a head start by doing a serology test to find out. Then take the results with you when doing medicals.
