Cool! Thanks for the heads up!
Arent EI letting crew go at LGW though ? Im surprised they arent offering them the option to join at Dublin!
Still its positive news and great for those who want to work as crew based in dublin !
Does anyone know how long it has been since EI last hired crew for a ROI base ? It must be a good few years at this stage! All the Dublin based crew seem to be in their 30's! hasnt been brand new crew in Dublin in a while! Or am i wrong ?

Aer Lingus Cabin Crew DUB commute from MAN

Very tempting job offer - does anyone know when this was posted on EI's website...? I'm 41 and living alone in MAN since 2002 but still kept my Irish passport, as I have all my family there - commuting to DUB from MAN would not be an issue but the police disclosure could be a problem as GMP no longer provide these - I do meet all the other reqs though

If you read the posting more closely you'll notice that they say they are putting a panel together and it's headed under Future Recruitment. So from that point of view goodness knows when training or actual recruitment would start. Pals of mine in EI say there's meant to be a redundancy programme soon - to encourage longer serving staff to leave - but that could all be pie in the sky too.

I would imagine that LGW crew would be offered to transfer base if they wanted.

As for when they last recruited, they took on cabin crew last year for DUB and I don't think that they were all in their 20's. Some were in their 40's as far as I know.

As for ages there are a good few of them still in the their 20's. I know one who is 25. She started 5/6 years ago. But yes there are obviously crew in their 30's 40's and 50's - like many other 'former' national carriers/flag carriers.

Ohh i didnt know they hired last year!! Ya some of the best crew ive had the pleasure of flying with are the more senior crew at EI !

With regard to commuting from MAN it says you must live within 90mins of base! So you would need to live no more that 90mins from DUB !

@Locker10a. dunno about the 90 mins thing. but I guess if that's what they want that's what they want. I don't think you'd have to have an address within 90 mins before you apply or do an interview. Get that bit sorted afterwards.

ya you are right you can apply from anywhere in the world ! But they ask can you anwser yes to the following question -> " Are you capable of arriving within 90 minutes from your base when on reserve duty? "
So i persume that means you must live within 90mins of dublin airport so you can arrive within a certain time if you are on call!?!

That would be the idea yes. With the infrastructure that's there it allows you to live in places outside DUB that are not as expensive to live. That said if you're from West Cork or Donegal for example you are not going to be able to commute from there.

Ad was posted on Friday I'm told.

Crew have to live 90 mins from Dublin. It is very difficult to commutte, and commutting from the UK would be very difficult, and expensive

well unless you want to drive to dublin airport 4 or 5 days a week!
Depending on your roster you could be working short hall turn arounds 4 or 5 days in a row! Plus when on call you would have to be ready to be at the airport within 90 of getting a call to say you are needed to operate a flight!

Aer Lingus Recruitment

Hello!

I've just found an offer with Aer Lingus. Has anybody applied already? I'm Polish, moving to Dublin in 2 weeks and I'm very curious if they might hire me. Studying at the university in London and turning 20 this year. Big fan of aviation - maybe Aer Lingus...?

Its not impossible to commute from Galway, but not easy. Rosters can involve 6 days on, with some long days. Some early duties start at 4am, and some late duties finishing after 2am. Rest time between duties can be 12 hours, so I wouldnt advise commuting. Some crew do, after a few years, but they normally end up going part-time as it is tough.

The recruitment page, mentions that the vacancies are for a panel, so I'd be curious to see when they will train crew.

I would highly recommend people to apply. Its a very unique job, fantastic experience, and you get to work with a great group of people

Hi
Anyone knows how many crew are the looking to hire? I hear they will receive two A319s in March.
I don't live in Ireland but I would be really interested to see my chances there. Anybody knows details about salary and cost of living in the ROI?
Anyone here already applied?

I think the ad hasn't closed yet. We might have to wait until it does to get a reply.

I'd love to know a few more things about the airline and the cabin crew position there.

Cheers
