Qatar airways and emirates's medical check

Hello, next cabin crews!

I wanna be a cabin crew in Qatar airways or emirates.

I was wondering if it is possible to apply for it

Even though I have a history of a treatment of arrhythmia.

I am totally fine when I have a check at the hospital,

but I have heard that some specific treatment or surgery couldn't

be acceptable.

The treatment's name was 'radiofrequency catheter ablation'.

Does anyone know about this?

P.S. I sent a message to both of the airlines, but they haven't answered yet..

This is very important for me to know, I hope someone can help me.

Thank you for your attention.

Hi, I don't know about Qatar but this is what it says on the medical form for EMIRATES in the 'Cardiovascular' section

Quote:
Unacceptable:
History or diagnosis of:
-Any significant functional or structural abnormality of the circulatory system
-Angina pectoris or Myocardial Infarction
-Coronary heart disease that has been treated or, if untreated, that has been symptomatic or clinically significant;

-Permanent cardiac pacemaker;
-Heart replacement

-Any abnormality of the heart, congenital or acquired, which is likely to interfere with the safe exercise of cabin crew duties.

Hope it helps!

oh my god...

According to that, I actually can't apply for it.

Do you think this can be flexible when it is perfectly cured?

It is so sad to accept that I have to give up being a cabin crew there.

However, I appreciate your help!

I just hope that Qatar would not be the same as Emirates.

As far as I'm aware they're pretty strict, you could always try I guess! Maybe take that criteria to your doctor/specialist & see what he says.

Alternatively I do know that Middle Eastern airlines seem far stricter on medicals than Aussie based airlines (I see you are from Brisbane) Perhaps try those??

If this point is the one concerning you:

Quote:
Any abnormality of the heart, congenital or acquired, which is likely to interfere with the safe exercise of cabin crew duties.

Then I'd see the specialist and ask him/her does s/hethink this applies to you and if not ask them to write you a letter saying so. If you did get through to the FI, you at least have the letter and if you do medicals I would upload this first before paying for anything else and see what they say.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Hot, if you wanna try it, try it.

Anyways, it's clearly a NO-GO if they find it out.
