Eastern Airways (UK)

Hi

does anyone know if Eastern Airways has a base at Manchester? Im really sorry if this has been posted before, i've had a look but couldn't find anything. I've looked at the Eastern Airways website and they say they have a base there but when i downloaded the application form, there was no option to apply for MAN even though they said they were recruiting for all bases? Very confusing! Anyway hope someone can help, thanks in advance

Yes there is a base there and has been since Oct of last year.

Are you interested? If so, apply and request it cos you'll more than likely get where you want. Eastern really good in that respect.

I'/ve worked with them for 4 years and i asure you that you'll be looked after. Apart from allowing for sickness and hols you'll remain at your base, unless you ask that you like to move around. I don't advise that, lol.

I think its 12.5k basic start these days, plus 1.25 duty, this is yet to change I hear.

I have worked for other airlines and if you choose Eastern, it is a close communty. The grass isn't always greener, but it is on this side. Offering pax Bubbles and free Bevs is rewarding ( especially when you see the response) which you don't with any other airline these days (its mostly suits).

It is an established company now with nearly 30 a/c, mostly 41's which you might get used to. Saab is great though.

I hope thats enough for you.

Good Luck if your're looking into Eastern.

There's also a base at Chester/Hawarden if that is any closer to home.

Its a contract with BAE flying between Chester/Hawarden to Bristol Filton.

MAN would be better for me but I've put Chester as my 2nd choice, do you have any idea on how big the base at MAN is and how many people they are looking for?

I hear MAN is a great little base. Mon to Fri with mixture of earlies and lates as usual, maybe one Sun in 5. Also, a few standbys knocked in for good measure.

I'm sure you'll be fine?

Good Luck

Not sure on numbers required but Man base has just one J41 that operates Man-Stn.
Don't be suprised to operate out of Chester to.
If they are short of crews you'll fly out of most the bases, positioning in a hire car or deadheading on flights.

gboy, without any reasons given, your post is not very useful.

If you could tell people WHY it is you didn´t like working for this airline, that would be useful. With your thinking in front of them, people coild take that into account when deciding to apply or not.
Thank you.

I got a letter yesterday and got all excited, but it said there are no vacancies at my chosen base. My application will go on file and I'll hopefully be contacted if and when there are vacancies. Im really gutted, really had my heart set on getting an interview, especially as the website says they are recruiting for all bases! Nevermind, i'll just have to keep my fingers crossed that a postition becomes available, thanks for all your advice too! I'll keep you posted if i hear anything else

i've just seen on another cabin crew forum that there are interviews for MAN this month, im just hoping I was a little late in applying and not unsuccessful! I keep seeing the aircraft parked up next to our big birds at MAN and wishing i was getting on them instead of ours!

Well - you could start by posting your question in the correct forum (I've now moved it there for you). A tiny, even fractional amount of research on PPRuNe would have enabled you to discover the correct forum before making your first post. Apparently you were too lazy to bother?

Presumably, that would also be why you are unable to capitalise you own writing correctly: It's just possible that Eastern Airways (UK) may appreciate this ability to a minor degree in potential employees.

It's not rude CRAZYCHRIS, it is direct, and TightSlot is doing you a favor by putting in writing what everyone thought upon reading your post.
Don't focus so much on form, focus instead on the content, and start working on improving yourself from there.

Your post is off hand and unacceptable and extremly rude
Offhand? I'd say some effort went into it. Some thought too, you should try it some time.

Sou is a Monday to friday base, working either earlies 6am till 1300 (just 2 sectors then a standby), or lates 14:00 till around 21:00 (4 sectors). There is one J41 based there, with another aircraft kept for charter work.

In practice you may spend time at other bases and away on charters from time to time, including weekends.

The terms and conditions are fairly basic, but the crews are generally decent to work with.

Rude?

Just reading back at previous posts on here and I have to agree that Tightslot is rude. Have seen many posts on here that are rude and not really very nice. Direct is one thing, but rude is quite another, bullying some may say?

Freedom of speech and all that, but no need for rudeness.

Cheers
