if you were to join as a380 crew does that mean you'd be stuck doing that forever? that aircraft only operates to 7 destinations... i wonder how long until that list expands

Hi ruukun

I think the Qantas A380 only flies to 3 destinations, namely LHR, SIN and LAX, Australia-based crew get to do only SIN and LAX, so having 7 ports is a vast improvement for crew!

Re: Ruukun and A380 Crew

Hey there as far as I knew if you were trained for A380 you would spend about 2 years just on this type before you could move across to the mainstream fleet. This was at the time because the A380 was brand new and to ensure that service remainded consistant onboard they would only have designated crew to operate them. Things could have changed however since I went through everything with EK at that start of the year before being put on hold so its possible this may no longer be the case.

congratulations!

congratulations guys! must be exciting knowing that you guys got cleared and is ready to go!

I can't wait till I use up my 1 year and try again!! Only 3 months to go. Hopefully, with faith and prayer, that Emirates will come back to my home town again soon for an OD/AD

You guys must be hella excited! So tell me... exactly how many orders did Emirates place for A380 or the B777? I read somewhere that Emirates also ordered new planes from Boeing's new series B787.

Thanks to God the economic is picking up!

NO WAY it could all be done in a week... it took me a lot longer the first time.
you need a week just to get an appointment for EKG, RTG...then you wait few days for the outcome, a lot of us also need to add 3-4 days for translation...

Went to Melb OD today and didn't really had the opportunity to speak much for self intro during registering CV and apparently they will screen and call between 4pm - 5pm so its 6pm now, think i didn't make the cut.

perth open day

Hi everyone, i was at the perth open day today and didn't get through.
as always I have no idea what they are looking for. My advice is to wear your hair down and have it messy as all the girls that looked like this got through. all the girls that had their hair up in french rolls and had a high standard of grooming didn't make it through. girls in ballet flats got in over girls in heels.
There was a Cv handover which lasted for about 2 mintues with one question like " where are you currently Working" and thats it.
Came back 2 hours later and had a group activity where we had to talk to the person ext to us and then stand up and talk about them to the rest to of the room. after that we were made to leave the room and after a few minutes we were told whether we were through to the next round or not. that was it.
Def not enough 1 on 1 time where the recruiters can get to know you!
Congrats to all those girls that made it through. have fun!!

re-assessment interview

Hi Guys,

I'm very worried because I still didn't hear anything regarding the date for my re-assessment interview after 1st september when i got re-contacted and I confirmed my interest in working with EK.

It's over one month now and i'm feeling very anxious as many people on this forum has done their re-assessment interviews!!

Do you think I should contact the HR office to hear about something?

Skyline 88, I would say just wait another week or so before you contact them. They do say it can take up to 6 weeks. If you think how many cabin crew they interview all over the world and how many aplications they process each week, we just have to sit and wait. I know it's hard to not know what your doing or if you got through but i know how you are feeling. I'm waiting to hear back as well after my final interview. Hang in there. Hopefully it won't be much longer for any of us.
