Hi Jackofan,

Oop I'm much much older than you. If that's the reason, I'll be very angry. as they should have put an age limit indicating which applicants will not be accepted.
What a waste of time and energy we've spent(!)
I still hope that's not the case though

I'm just about to have my photos done to get ready by this Sat. Let's see how it goes in Birmingham this time. If it still doesn't work, who should I blame but myself

Let's pray for ourselves..

they dont have an age limit, thought if you LOOK 40, they wont want to hire you XD thats the point. if you look youngish its perfectly alright no matter if 30 or above i think.

They can't put an upper age limit officially because that would be discrimination in Europe. It would be the same if they only put down in the add that they will only be recruiting girls. I can't remember which airline it was but they did it in Australia once and were told by the authorities if they ever wanted to recruit their again they also had to recruit boys and stop their "discrimination".

Age matters a bit but people over their 30's have got through.

Grapefruit75 and Jakofan

They also will take a look at your CV in the OD, it is important to have expereience in cutomer services, but do not lie in your cv or resume because they ask you to bring to doha certificates or reference letters of previous employers as a proof.

Keep trying: it is an advantage now that you have the experience of an Open Day, you are much better prepared now for the next opportunity!
Cheers and good luck
Hey Usagi, best luck for you too, I bet you are very nervous waiting for an aswer!!!

Oh and I´m 28 and I did it!!

i've been waiting over 4 months!
it's very complicated,
just waiting for my iron levels to come down
as i had an iron infusion
(because i didnt have enough iron,
and i now have too much!)
should be ready soon though.
the wait is so painful!
trust me, i know how you feel.
it will be worth it when we get there though.
what's your story?

usagi27,

My FI is on 4 May.

Everybody who waiting for medical clearance, I understand your feeling but believe me they will contact you as soon as they get the reply from medical center. I think if you are worried, you could ask them for your medical via email. They may answer you what the process of your medical is on now.

Hope to see you all in DOHA soon

age....

Hey girls, I just got the this forum link fm one of my friend...I passed in Nanjing last April (living in China for 5 years already but I am italian)..still waiting for the medical clearance since end of April (I was scheduled to leave in JUNE 09) but I am still here..and remade 4 times my urine tests..now thay cannot ask me more unless they want to come here and opend my kidney (which are perfectly ok..like all therest..) I just wanted to let u know that I am 31 years old..and can confirm you it is not a question of age..for what it is my experience in the job world and for what I saw during the recruitment..I was in Singapore too but I failed the english test like a stupid ..really.. they do not have any special type to choose..I saw so many girls ..so different one another that there is no common attributes to have..in my case during the final interview they asked me if I was sure of my choice..earning 1/4 of my current salary..being single at an age of 31..it is not easy..because they had to "push" me in DOHA..as they told me clearly there are a lot of younger competitors. So girls, do not give up...we just wait !! and if not lucky the first time..will have more luck on the second or the third! I fullfilled my dream at 31 years old!!!

hi guys
Quick question. i had my final interview on 23rd June in Brisbane. My friend who also had her final interview on the same day got an email last thursday telling her to proceed with her medicals. They told us they would get back to us within three weeks of that day and its now been 3 weeks and 2 days. Does this mean i haven't been successful? Do they contact you either way? I'm wondering why they emailed my friend a week ago and ive heard nothing and there was only 14 of us that actually got through to the final interview from Brisbane. Or is this quite common for them not to get back to you when they say they will...? Im getting grey hairs over this!! haha. Thanks

No, it doesn't mean that you have been unsuccessful. Her application could have been at the top and that means they would have looked at it before yours. Today is the last working day for them and if you don't hear anything today you might hear something from them on Sunday or onwards.

About medicals

I wonder if the medical reports were sent via e-mail to the medical centre. Or hard copies, as in the officer will print out all the documents.

Just wondering.

2 weeks already.. Still counting.

All the best to those who are waiting for a reply

scary news x.x
I got a mail to redo my CBC (as expected because of my abnormal values) and also do a proper chest X-ray report...
Can somebody detail that to me, what is a proper chest X-ray report like? Do I also have to send the X-ray itself?
cheers
(bunny girl this means your medicals are next XD)

i DID send them a sheet of paper made by my doc that said i have no problem with my spine whatsoever, but they told me to send them a PROPER report lol thats why im asking.
my CBC and urine had a lot of bad values that show that i have inflammation: creatinin slightly high and lymph also high, plus stuff in my urine, not much but over the normal (like bacteria or the other stuff in urine)

specifically they didnt ask for a urine test but my GP automaticlly asked for one from the lab so i sent it and since it was abnormal they ask for it again.
maybe you dont even need one!
just wait for their answer
