hi everyone

Just a question: does airlines like Qatar reject anyone with scoliosis regardless of the severity or do they still take in people with scoliosis as long as it's minimal?

Scoliosis can't be more than 15 degrees!

I can't say for EK, EY or GF as I haven't got a clue. I know this is the case at QR because I used to work there.

QR Open Day Manila

Hi, new here. Just wanna share what happened when I attended the OD last Saturday.

I arrived there (at the agency's extension office) on time, and guess what, I was applicant #9**. Around 1300 aspiring FA's showed up. And yeah, it caused traffic, coz the Jeepney drivers were all looking at the long line of girls (which extended up to the next block!)

So I submitted my CV, and the recruiter asked my name, how was I feeling, and my preferred contact number. It lasted for a total of 15.7 secs. LOL. I'm not blaming the recruiter though, she might be tired as hell.

So, yeah. I didn't even make it on the next round.

What am I trying to say is, you guys are all lucky. Many are dying to have your job. Even if you are still waiting for your medicals, tickets, etc. at least your almost there.

With me, I guess I'll just wait for another airline, or another OD in mla.

medicals

Just received an e-mail saying that my medicals are cleared! Very happy and relieved! Now I wait for my Date of Departure. Hopefully I'll be leaving with all you people end of July!

Good luck to all those attending ODs in the near future! Don't give up!

My Final Interview was on 25 May in Cape Town. I sent my medicals to Qatar on 18 June and they were cleared today so that was just under 2 weeks. Have you sent your medicals? When are you tentatively booked to leave?

Really? That's very annoying. Have you sent all the reports through to Avina by now? Hopefully you will hear from them soon to say that they are cleared! And maybe you'll be training with me!

im really sorry to hear that sunnysideup :S i know that you also need a good deal of luck to make it in these interviews... and well if there are over a thousand ppl!!! omg! (we were about 150 in buenos aires and also in belgrade) i think its impossible to choose fairly out of such a group of ppl! maybe you should try the OD in another country...? or maybe youre right and you should try with another airline? im really not sure what to do in such a hard case but one thing is for sure: dont give up!
im so happy i made it up till here x.x would be so horrible if the medicals didnt work out!

I actually don't think it's fair with these walk-in interviews as it doesn't really give you the opportunity to present yourself when there are hundreds of applicants queuing. First impression counts but three questions in 15 seconds? Madness!

Hello ppruners,

Been spending my days sorting out my medicals. Everything should be sent by tomorrow inshallah.

aj_campbell

congrats! You were cleared quite quickly!! You are one step closer, but i thought that they tell you your DOJ with the medical clearing email? At least thats what i thought. People who are any wiser please clarify, thanks!

SavinMe or anyone who might have a bit of knowledge

Is it more common for the newbies to share with 2 other people instead of one? Also, does the training involve testing how strong a swimmer you are? Thanks in advance for any info.

usagi27
Hope u are getting on OK with your meds!

Until later guys.....chow!

It's more common to share the flat with 1 other girl. They try to put the same batch on the same building on the same flat and even live with the same race. I think they do this so it's easier for transport to pick us up. However I'm the only one who got separated from my batch. I live right next to my batchmate's building with a senior crew. The advantage is, you will have the internet installed already. Others have to wait 1-2 weeks for it. And there's one girl on my batch who lives alone in a 2 bedroom flat.

I'm 4 weeks away from doing the ditching in dubai so I'm not sure if they test your swimming skills. But they said it doesn't matter if you cant swim cos you have a life jacket put on when they throw you into the pool.
