I have recently been to a Easyjet recruitment day at Liverpool on 7th April. It was a great day!!! Plus I have just found out I was successful...I have been offered Newcastle Base, start my training in Luton 2nd June.
Is there anyone who was also successful and has been offered Newcastle base???
Hi everybody,
I'd like to know if someone else has received an email with an invitation for an assessment day on the 5th May with EJ. I received an email where was told me that I was shortlisted and I'm still waiting for an email of confirmation with full details about the place of event. How long does it take? I still waiting and the 5th of May is not far. I hope they will reply to me on time coz I had to ask days off and also I need to plan my journey to Stansted.
Thanks in advance for any suggest and help I could get!
Hi Everybody, my name is Erika I come from Milan, Italy.
Nice to meet you Folks.
I'm going to attend the Cabin Crew Recruitment on 5th May in London Gatwick for EasyJet but I still have to book an accomodation to overnight in London ! I have to do it quickly..!
Anyone else is going to attend the same recuitment day?
Hey...I got an assessment day on the 5th May at Hilton Hotel in Gatwick.
Hi ErikaFly,
Come stai? Spero bene!
E ci daremo dentro con l'assessment day. We can do it! The best!
Assessment day on 5th May 2009 at Hilton Hotel in Gatwick
Hi there,
I got an assessment day on the 5th May for EasyJet at the Hilton hotel in Gatwick, and I am wondering if someone else has got it on the same day.
I was thinking to book a room in one of the cheapest B&B I found on internet, and if we can join together, the price of the room would be slashed drastically. More we are and more cheaper will be by sharing.
The 5th May is near and...I havent booked yet coz in case there is someone else with a better idea or place where I/we could stay overnight on the 4th May.
So please, let me know asap. Otherwise I will have to book for my own!
Disappointed about the assessment with EJ on the 5th May 2009:
I want to write this post to communicate my disappoint about the selection EJ made on this day.
It is hard for me to say how upset I was and how unfair the selection was for some of us.
When I arrived to the Hilton Hotel in Gatwick I found about 100 people in queue for the assessment with EJ and we were numerated in base at the inizial of our first name.
Once inside the biggest room we had the Math and English test. The Math test is very very easy but the English one has got some tricky part (usually the middle part of) that request more attention.
I did pass the math and english test very easly and then about 20 numbers were called and 20 people were eliminated, coz they didnt pass the test or they didnt complete the test (so it is important that you complete your test even if you don’t know the answer).
I was so happy to have passed it. After we were splitted up in different groups for the group exercises and asked to form groups of 4 or 5 people with a member of EJ senior cabin crew.
I was in a group with others three candidates and one senior cabin crew. To each of us was given a depliant with some sale products and they asked in two minutes to choose individually one that could be the best seller of the moment. Then everybody wrote down at least 5 key points about it and then we discussed with the senior cabin crew which of us had got the great product and why. The senior cabin crew was designated to take notes about how we interact with the others and on about our sales skills and listening level and attention to details. I did manage very well in this group exercise.
The second group exercise was on the tradition test of bunker: which of us you would save and why? To each of us were given a card where there was written your profile: a doctor or a scientist or a professor or an army officer. There is no right answer in this test. They just want to watch how you manage with the others and how you interact. Once again I thought to have done very well. Keep my smiling up and with a perfect attitute.
After the groups exercises we had the break, a 3 hour break. I went with others candidates to having something to eat and this was a great opportunity to interact and communicate more with everybody. I was so happy. This was the part I really loved about all the assessment day and I got a lot friends now from any part of Europe. I got three best friends during the break and we spoke about the group exercises and about the performance. We thought to have done brilliant and that was. No doubts. During my break I spoke with some of candidates and I found some of them unmotivated and with e negative attitude to the job with EJ. These people didn’t bother to pass the test, they just wanted to go home and forget about it. I was the first person to say to them: “No, come on... you will be fine! Be happy, be positive.. you need to be motivated if you want this job”.
This is ridiculus and I will explain why later.
We had to come back to the biggest room for 2.00pm for the second selection, elimination.
The numbers called = people eliminated.
About more than 70 per cent was eliminated at that time. I saw a lot of fantastic people with a clever mind, great personality, very nice people, with passion and very motivated leave the room to go home.... included me.
When they called my number I thought maybe this time the numbers called are the survives, but not. We were eliminated. The faces down and a big disappointed for some of us which were very good at the group exercises.
But the thing that makes me more upset and disappointed about the performance that EJ demonstrated (people that judged you), was: some of people with which I spoke before and that weren’t motivated and distressed passed through. This made me nervous, coz some of them didn’t say one word at the group exercises and they just wanted to go home, finish soon and also some of them which were screaming, shouting, taking over the others, making people in an imbarassment position passed through. I don’t understand why a so serious and friendly air company did this. I think the seniors cabin crew in change or the sales cabin crew or whatever they are called didn’t demonstrated to be enought professional to be honest and for that reason I write this post because some candidates that passed the assessment day should be at my place...at home, because they don’t deserve it. How is it possible that people unmotivated and with a bed attitute to be honest passed through?
Anyway.. I’m still a bit shocked since yesterday and I’m sorry for all of us...for all these nice people who left Gatwick to come back home and I want to say to them to not give up and to try with different air-companies and also may to come back in six months for EJ again, why not. Maybe people change and maybe better examiners will take place.
I’m not a perfect candidate... I was just myself in all the points with a buggage of my sale experiences past, and I did much better that some of others candidates whom really don’t deserve it.
I hope to having spoken in all of candidates name, who were surprised about that elimination.
Hi, i attended a recruitment day in Paris CDG the end of April and they offered me a possition but they said i had to go into a holding pool until a future training date opens up. Is anyone else in the same boat!??
Is there anyone out there that could answer this question for me. If I would take a job as a cabin crew with easyJet based in Gatwick would they issue some sort of travel allowance? I live 30 min away from the base and it would cost me araund 10 pounds a day to go there and back again. I'm just not too sure if that would be a smart thing to do as the salary is not sky wrackingon the other hand, I really wanna take this job... someone please answer this for me.
Unfortunately you will not receive any travellling allowance to go to work! The allowances you earn are pretty good and soon mount up to give you a decent salary.
I worked for easyJet for 15 months and earned good money, you do work hard though so be prepared to work long days and double trips etc.
The criteria is that you should be able to commute to work within 90 minutes should you be called from standby etc, if you choose to live 30 minutes away then that is your at your own cost, I would suggest that you look at moving nearer to Gatwick Airport and find a house to share, you may find that the expenses you would incur commuting may work out cheaper if you rented nearer!
If you really want the job then I would recommend you go for it!
Sorry to hear you didn't get through to the interview stage. I know myself what it's like to not be offered the next stage - it's heartbreaking. Unfortunately with this type of mass assessment, its possible for the shiniest diamond to miss the miners. I'm sure you're probably much more suited than the majority of candidates however this time it's just a case of re-applying in 6 months time. I always like to look on the bright side - who knows, this may have happened for a reason. A lot of it is down to luck and unfortunately if the assessor that day got out the wrong side of bed you'll feel the wrath! Just move on having learnt something, apply to other airlines in the mean time and get lots of interview experience. If only the whole interview experience wasn't so expensive!
thanks for an answer(:maybe you could do me one more?lol
I know Im gonna sounds so greedy...but do they pay for the training aswell?there is 4 weeks house training isnt it?thats not really an issue, just wanted to know. and how soon after your training do you sighn your contract and start working?
You must feel awful but believe me you can do better!! The people who recruit for easyjet CC are not the most highly trained in the world...It's low cost and training costs!!!! They might have SCCM/ACCM on their name badge but so what? How they treated people at the assesment stage is how easyjet treat employees....like a number. I can speak from experience as I work for them. You are better than this believe me and believe in yourself Don't let this one experience put you off.
You come across as somebody who would take the role of CC seriously. There are other airlines out there who would value that and recognise it at the recruitment stage. Apply to them!!!!!
How they treated people at the assesment stage is how easyjet treat employees....like a number.
I couldn't disagree more. Besides, do you expect them to call everyone by name when 300-500 people turn up for assessment? You would be there all day. Sounds like you're a bit angry with the world. Yeah other airlines treat their crew so much better, take Virgin - taking on crew to make them redundant 3 months later. At least you know where you stand with easyJet. It's not nice to say but if you don't like it, leave it. Going around spouting negative BS isn't doing anyone good, let alone yourself! I could only imagine what it must be like for you - clearly so elite and working for EJ! Jees - you should be at the likes of Emirates or something.. I think you'd enjoy it there.
Yours,
Someone who doesn't take being CC seriously, apparently
Don't be so arrogant. I think lowcostdolly is in a much better position to comment, what with her working there now. She also correctly notes that recruiters are not god's gift and can get it wrong. Spend less time brown-nosing and making oh-so-hilarious cutting comments, and perhaps people will try listening to any points you'd like to make, rather than seeing the sarcasm and drawing the conclusion, as I have, that you're a know-it-all who really doesn't.
