Layovers are a rare thing thesedays and european nightstops will be limited this winter to jersey bologne manchester edi. and gla.(I think that is all),however there are lots and lots of lovely 3 to 7 day trips to the usa,the carribean, sharm, the maldives, and starting next month to cancun in Mexico.

Tomkins

Thanks thats sounds very very acceptable ha! ha! Can you possibly tell me what the monthly salary of a temp would could look like. I know that's a hard question but it would be nice to know before I put in for my family credit (only joking).

And, does everyone, including temps get a fare mix of long haul as well as short haul?

Thanks again Tomkins...

monthly roster example

Hey,

Any chance there are any mixed fleet British Airways customer service managers out there that would mind sharing an example of a couple of months worth of their rosters? I am curious as to how many nights away the job would involve roughly.

I'd be extremely grateful....
Thanks

By that request, I guess you mean the CSM rosters on the new MF?

If that is the case then no-one can help you as the fleet is not yet operational, and in any case, as I understand it, will be shorthaul only for the first month thereafter starting to include longhaul routes.

People will be able to give you sample rosters for LGW cabin crew which also operate a mix of long and shorthaul flights, but reading across from LGW to LHR may be misleading, but on the other hand may give you some idea of the balance betwen LH and SH as experienced at LGW.

At the end of the day, the company will be operating the LHR fleet under the same or very similar constraints as at LGW, ie CAP371 which is the law, with respect to duty and rest, but just to repeat, it will depend on the balance betwween LH and SH at LHR.

Thank you TopBunk for your reply.

As previous Ryanair cabin crew - simply short haul/planned roster I am curious to see the work/day off balance for British Airways.

If there are any gatwick based CCM that wouldn't mind giving me an example of their roster that would really help me.

I am thinking of applying for the Cabin Service manager positions based at LHR and am weighing up the pro's and con's.

Any advice/help would be gratefully received

Post British Airways mixed fleet

I applied as well, and I'm so excited about it.
Even I am not British I will be proud to wave the British flag :-) :-)

Living in France now however willing enough to move to London for (hopefully) a cabin crew position within British Airways.

As I have several years of experience as CCM and even SCCM I applied for the future talent, can somebody explain how it works?? You will be promoted after one year or what's the timeframe with this??

Looking forward to every kind of information.

Thank you!!

LGW Base

Could anyone tell me what the salary looks like on a monthly basis for an 11 month contract at Gatwick? Do you get any meals included downroute while staying at hotels or are these paid for out of your salary. I know 747girl was asking and it would be good to know.

There is lots of talk about shorthaul shrinking, so do you think its just a matter of time before BA get rid of short haul, or at least make it a low cost carrier subsiduary.

If anyone could help in answering that would be great. Thanks!

Temps at LGW dont get the overnight allowance approx 10 pounds per night away, nor are they entitled to the free breakfast that at most destinations appart from the USA.Would think that 1000 pounds would represent a bad month for a temp though.

Temps at LHR don't get the overnight £10 anymore nor breakfast. Flew with one and the salary for last few months were 750, 1050, 940. So going on what I have been told by a LHR temp maybe it is better at LGW, makes a change!!!..

Just to let people know, that LGW recruitment starts on 25th of this month. I believe this to be permanent contracts.

Thanks for the update about Gatwick. Are these contracts to be like Mixed Fleet with CSM/FTC/Cabin Crew or will it be for general cabin crew? It seems like LGW is becoming a bit like the beach fleet with all the new routes that have recently been announced!

LGW is already the Beach Fleet.Think only main crew positions will be available as generally promotion at LGW is done internally. Will be interested to see the terms and conditions that are offered. Will they be the same as current crew or New Fleet?

Ba Ftc Interviews

Hi Guys,

Anyone been to a FTC interview and have any advice?, is the 2-2-1 usual customer service questions and examples or is the interview geared around "how would you resolve crew conflict etc"? insight into group scenarioswould be great.

Good luck to all who have applied and thanks in advance for any replies.

AFAIK all crew recruited into LGW fleet will be on current LGW contract and not NF contract. The campaign starting Monday is for permanent crew.

I was in the hold pool from 2008 and attended an interview in September this year. I was successful but have yet to have heard anything. Do you think they will offer LGW as they mentioned this at my interview and are the conditions and pay likely to be better than MF?

Will the LGW recruitment be for short haul or long haul? Or is LGW mixed flying?

LGW is both long and short haul. Pay is (slightly) better than MF. T&Cs are better at LGW as well.
