It is first come, first served unfortunately, (I have been informed), I have handed in my notice already at work where I have a good job), it doesn't look good!

Regards.

Contracts

Ronaldo

You should never hand in your notice until you have your contract signed and on it's way back to the airline, this goes for most of the charter companies.

TCX are still tweaking the flights for this summer so they are taking longer to decide on crew numbers, I think the letters should be out soon tho' so that they can get the training rosters out. I know that the Re-joiners have now received theirs so the Initials should be out soon. I hope you don't have to wait too long

Iain,

Thanks for that. I know I shouldn't have (re: notice) but it was my first application to cabin crew and I never knew that it was possible for things to collapse, silly of me I know!

I just hope that the letter next week is good news. I was the first person to ber interviewed in the January courses I believe so I don't know if that will help at all? If only I knew how many they are taking on...

Thanks.

Angry

Mine also said"on hold, awaiting contract", but to be fair, I've just being reading all the comments on cabincrew.com. Things aren't looking too good.Obviously alot of rumours are flying(pardon the pun) around, some people have already got their contracts, for certain bases. But if it's all a case of first come, then why put up advertisments that they where recruiting in December. Why carry on having interviews up to last week. I for one, will be really hacked off, if i'm told that all positions have been filled. Surely tcx must have had some kind of indication of what numbers they needed for each base.

It's a good point what you made about why still recruit, I think that those interviewed in January and February this year still have a chance because they wouldn't spend money recruiting and taking cabin crew off duty to interview if they knew their numbers had been filled. Since the merge I think that they will take a lot on which is the reason for them interviewing in Jan/Feb 08. Next week we will see i'm quite confident about that!

Just got to hope that luck is with you when it arrives!

Recieved my letter today. no vacancies for 08, they will keep me on file for 09. But the best is ....they can offer me work in Belfast..
Ranoldo.... I hope you get what you want,! But i feel very gutted at the moment. I hope you still have a job if you didnt get through.
( I'm flying with Thomas cook in August, I'm gonna make sure I have that cabin crew running around after me...ahhh)
Hopefully will work next year. Take care and post back with what happens with you and finding nema. ps man u played well last night.. bye

I got a letter from them today, regarding BHX, telling me that the base was fully crewed due to the merger etc., but my details were being kept on file, and that if I was interested in flying from LGW to let them know by March 15th. Sadly it's not an option to transfer due to other commitments, but on the other hand, I'm thrilled I got this far in the application process and will definitely consider reapplying next year. Good luck to whoever is still waiting and commiserations to those who are in the same boat as me!

Linzi, Finding Nema,

I too have been told that MAN is full due to having to honour promises with last summer's candidates. However, I will be taking the LGW option so I relocate there next month. All the best for the future guys/girls, may see you soon...

Sorry that your first choices of base have been full Congratulations for getting this far, some don't make it to the 2-2-1 others don't make it through the interview. Also if you are being kept on file you may find that as long as you still want the job next year you should be near the top of the choices, especially as you have waited for them!!!!

Ronaldo welcome to LGW, when is you training starting? By the looks of the summer schedule at LGW its going to be a busy time

Thanks Iain,

My letter is at home I'm going to get sorted when I finish work. I spoke with someone from TCX the other day and they said that the letter is offering me Belfast, though if I want LGW then I have to reply back with a note in there stating this and they will then let me know my training date.

I will let you know.

Cheers.

Hello!!

i have just finished my first season at thomas cook at LGW.

DOn't worry for the interview the recruitment team will do the best to put your serlf at ease

the first step is a written test, it's like a mix of numeracy and general knowleadge I remember quiet a few currency conversion exercises, some question about Thomas Cook hisself, the main base of Thomas COok AIrlines (Manchester) Airport codes, Capital cities and similar thing. Not that hard.

then you have a group exericece we were a group of people who survived at a crash in the middle of the desert and we had to discuss amost ourselfs what to bring with us, the main topic is the discussion don't be too bossy and don't be too quiet, use an effective body language don't slouch sit upright, don't be nervous and you'll do fine

then you have a 2-2-1 interivew, one is asking you questions another one is writting down, question are the usual one, Why do you want to be a cabin crew? strengh and weaknees and similar thing like that.

the average take home every month is 1300-1400 £ plus allowance if you are luck to get a downroute night stop (it's unusual to be honest, in 5 months I've got only 1 night in Moscow (The night of the Champions league final) and 2 nights in Halifax and Toronto).

Being kept after the 6 months? Well It COULD BE... but I will not hold my breath for it!

Good Luck!
let us know how it goes
