Thank beachbum66.

I think it might have another name in New Zealand, all that I can find are ones in Aussie.

I'm thinking my local council might do them, which happens to be the same council that issues the Liquor Licenses to JQNZ aircarft.

Do they mean a bar Manager License?

There's no where in NZ that offers the course so you have to do it via correspondence from Australia. I'm from Melbourne and did my course at Holmesglen Tafe, maybe have a look at their website. It was only a 4 hour course and costs about $50 when I did it 5 years ago.

Also, I interviewed with Jetstar AKL base back in February & was put on active hold which I believe is now going ahead now for early 2010, a lot of the people in my original interview ground didn't have their RSA at the time but managed to still get an interview. I think if you make it to the next stage you obviouslly have to have booked in etc. They make allowances for it not being an available course here in NZ.

Thanks for your help guys, I have email them about the RSA will post the response

Do do wonder what that would think about someone that wanted to change from IT to being a cabin crew. Although it is worth a pay cut for a job where you get to fly all day long

Anyone receive any news re: Cairns Base?

I'm still waiting to hear back about my active hold status in Auckland & whether I'll recieve a placement in the early 2010 ground school *biting nails*

I know Jetstar send out 90% of their correspondence on a Thursday so fingers crossed!!

Hi

I have not heard from JQ yet...
I asked one of the JQ HR members regarding to my application about 2 weeks ago and this HR officer said to me that my application is still pending at this stage. It has been for 2 weeks ...I havent' heard anything from them at all.
I am really wondering what's going on.
One of the guys on this web site who attend the same interview in Cairns said that he recieved a no mail from JQ last thursday.
Do they just forget to send a no mail to me??

Even they say yes to me, It's not enough time to do Medical, Asic and moving to Cairns because the school will start on 23rd of Nov and it is less than 4 weeks...
Should I ask JQ again??

If you haven't heard it might be worth just shooting off an email to see where they're at with it all - couldn't hurt!

Hiya, I have seen that JetStar are accepting interest...what does this mean? Do they keep these on file then when they are recruiting send an email?
I have recently applied to virgin blue but would also like to register my interest with Jetstar but I am worried as the personal details forms seem like they are from the same website and Im scared that Virgin Blue would be able to cross check my name or something and see that I am also applying to Jetstar which may put them off.

Don't worry about Virgin & Jetstar being able to access your details with other companies - they use the same promgramme to operate their recruitment (much like MYOB or APS) but the databases are completely seperate.

Anyone else heard anything for AKL base?

I'm exhausted as the wait rolls into it's 9th month on active hold, I'm literally sitting here pleading with my phone to ring, I can't take it anymore arrrghhh!! hehe!

Thank you for that...I just went to register my interest but as i do not have the first aid yet it said my application would be put on hold till I had it so I didnt submit. Annoying because i cannot do these courses till I am back in Aus which wont be for a few months. Im not sure if they would accept a UK equivelent.
Good luck with the job Ruby
