I attended a recruitment day back in Feb, got all the way thru and was placed on the Hold list at the end of March. In the 4 months until now all i have received are once-monthly emails stating that there are still no scheduled GS's for MEL/AVV base crew on hold. Anyone know if any GS have been scheduled for the rest of the year?
I'm waiting and hoping to get on the new perth base, and am hoping that the GS for that will be in melb. I would presume that it'd be fairly soon seeing as Perth base is taking off end of october...
Hi breeza! Havnt been on here for a while but i applied for Jetstar Perth base too. Hoping to hear back from them soon. I imagine too, that the ground school will be in Melbourne. I just cant wait for the interview/open day they have. Im really interested to know more about pay and what kind of roster we are likely to have. goodluck
oooh how exciting! When did you apply? Did you notice that they have closed applications early? Says on the recruitment site that apps closed on the 30th of June but they were supposed to close on the 6th of July?!
So are you from WA?? I'm from Geelong, VIC. But I want to relocate so am excited to have the opportunity to apply for Perth Base.

I did wonder that myself. But i figure they'll probably use existing crew for the time being, and just have them commuting to Perth for the flights. what a bummer...
At the moment from what I heard, there are no plans for Perth Base. Considering that flights will commence in September 2008. They will first give priority to the Adelaide base CC if they consider relocating to Perth, otherwise MEL/SYD base crew will just have to do the international leg and pax/overnight in Perth.
Yeah i think because some of us received an email from jetstar announcing the opening of a Perth base, so we applied for it. But then there was the drama with qantas losing its staff, and last i heard from Jetstar is that the recruitment process has been put on hold. So hopefully by the end of the year or next year the Perth base will be back on! heres hoping
All JQ recruitment on hold due to the old "Fuel Crisis". All vacancies, including the new PER base will be filled in-house. Surplus crew from ADL of course, plus the over-crewed bases MDB, SYD and NTL will cover network shortages otherwise.
On hold until at least November I'd expect.
Not the greatest of news for those waiting to hear, but better to know than not.

does anyone know if jetstar has recruited anyone under their height requirement...i went for there interview last year wondering this wen they measure at the interview only to be told they dont worry about the height...if this is true why do u measure ppl at ur interview process???
I was just speaking to a EXTREMELY high up person in management with Team Jetstar early this week re recruitment when things start up again, and this person told me Team jetstar is focusing everything at the moment on the Asian market and will be very active around Darwin/Cairns. Nothing on the radar for recruitment in the southern areas - SYD, MEL.
Though this person also said (as we all know) it is the airline industry, and it could all change tomorrow...
