does anyone know when there is a next training course for cabin crew with virgin. as been offered a position last month and I havnt heard anything else from virgin.
hi
I was your advert in regards to your interview, how did it go. I was wondering if you know when your start date of training is, as I have been offered a position, but no info inregards to start date,am geting a bit worried.
To me that is the best demonstration of team work anyone could ever give, After all team work is an important aspect of cabin crew so I think you will be fine if you explain that's the reason why you couldn't accept the first round offer.
I had an interview on the 24th October, and am now in the holding pool. Anyone else in the same position? I really can't wait to start! Hopefully will get my course date soon.
I've encounterd some problem on my job hunting as a cabin crew, I've sent my application to Virgin and Just one day after they repleyed to me saying that i've been unsuccesful and I've to wait 6 months to try again,
Now I think that I might get something wrong in the aswer of question so I'm telling you what I've answered so some of you might help me out.
1)Please tell us briefly about a time when you were working in a customer facing role and you believe you provided an exceptional level of customer service
1r) I was working as a front desk travel consultat in a Travel shop, a old day customer of that shop request me a special flight connection from Sydney to Madrid, witouth stop to much.
She was a little bit impressed about the long journey and I suggested her to take a couple of days as a stop over in Bangkok, so I took care about everything and find for her an hotel in the Thai capital city and organized for her all transfers between airport, when she came back she personally came to the shop and thank me for the suggestion.
I always took care of customers, because I think they are people up front
2)Please give us an example of a time when you were faced with a particularly angry or aggressive customer or colleague. In your answer, describe the circumstances, the emotions you experienced and your actions. We want you to particularly highlight the ways you displayed confidence and self belief, the decisions you took and why they were appropriate and to what extent you were able to continue to work effectively after the incident.
2r) If I should tell about a similar situation I could tell when I was working as a front office Hotel Receptionist in a big Eviroment and We had problem between two families who stayed on the opposite room on the same floor.
The Family A woman come down at 2,00 in the morning screaming and complaining about the noise the family B made, she therating me and my collegue saying very crazy things, we called the room and asked the other guys to make less noise and we propse her to change the room, I was willing to give her a better and more expensive room but after we told the other family to stop noise the problem were sorted out without consequeses.
I use to deal with angry and upset customer with education and politness and trying always to understand the reason why they are in that emotional state, I think is very iportant before take any decision
when they've replied the said me that:
By Customer Service we mean the ability to show empathy, to proactively recognise what individuals are feeling and need, and to ensure customers receive great service.
By Courage and Decision Making we mean the ability to convey self belief and confidence, to take appropriate decisions, and continue to work effectively when faced with challenging situations and difficult people.
COULD SOMEONE HELP ME OUT FOR MY FURTHER APPLICATION????
Although you have provided relevant answers to the questions im gonna take a wild guess and suggest that maybe it was due to the numerous spelling and grammatical mistakes in your answers...as there are quite alot of them and quite a few sentances dont make grammatical sense..Good Luck next time and if i were you i would use Microsoft word first to check your answers or have someone check you answers for you before sending your application again.
Best of luck.

Hi Nicola im also starting the course on the 14th of jan 2008, have an induction day on the 2nd of jan, do you to? i had my interview in august so glad to get a date! hope the crew strike going on at the moment sorts it self out before we start!
What an amazing site! Loads of info! I'm just about to send my application online. I was wondering if any of you did write the dates down in you work experience and qualifications since you don’t have any specific place to do so.
Do you guys think that VA still recruiting the same big amount of cabin crew as they were doing last year at this time? Or probably they did fill up all levels and they are just hiring a bit less?
Hi guys
im new to this, but i have an interview/assessment day at Concorde house on 22nd November, does anyone else have an interview this day?????? im so nervous!!!!!
I applied for an interview with Virgin online after wanting to work for them for the past 15 years (i am 24). I applied on the Wednesday and got an email the following day inviting me to an interview on the 22nd August 07. I live close to Nottingham so i drove down the day before and headed off to the interview. I was really really nervous and didn't know what to expect. There were 5 of us in there and 2 were already working for airlines. When they were talking to each other i was totally lost with all of the jargen so don't let this put you off if you are in the same situation.
The staff at the base are all really really nice. All 5 of us went into a room with 3 Vigin staff. 1 was an older lady who is cabin crew and the other were 2 men who work for recruitment i think? First, the lady asked us a bit about ourselves, i.e. name, where we had travelled from, what we currently did for a living. I was the only one who said my surname as well as my first name so this may be a good thing. Next, we were given cards with writing on and we went through and read them out. I think here Virgin are looking at your speaking skills for when you have to do the in-flight announcements. Next, we were given a scenario to act out. Ours was that we had a 2 minute broadcast on the radio to plee to people to donate to a chosen charity. We of course chose the Virgin on-board appeal - Change for Charity. We made it fun but i sort of took the lead a bit without being over powering. Making sure everyone was ok with what they were doing and so on. Next was an interview. this should have been 2 assesors to each candidate but i just sat with the lady. this lasted about 20 minutes and wasn't too formal. I was asked where i had gone out of my was to deliver exceptional customer service and why i wanted to work for Virgin.
That was about it for the day. I left at 2pm, got back home at 16.45pm and had an email from them at 17.00pm saying i had been successful!
I am so over the moon. I start my training with them on the 14th January and cannot wait.
Basically, be professional but still show that you can have a laugh as they like to portray themselves a lot as a fun company.
All the best - it is very daunting but don't get too worked up so that you mess up on the day.
