stn corporate flying

Hey
Pretty sure its Air Harrods tho it makes me laugh in the advert as it says previous applicants need not apply- how do you know if you've applied before if they won't tell you who they are!
Brilliant job if kinda low key- don't think the lifestyle is 'exotic island hopping' tho you are treated very well from what I hear (friend of a friend) Also helps if you are gorgeous!!

... don't really get your humor Mutt, but, we'll see if this is going to be a short career or the career of our life... anyhow, you sound pretty frustated about it... why??????

Hey,

It's the Al Fayed GIV.

My missus has been in corporate for 7 years.

She says this is one of those operations best left well alone! There is a regular turnover of girls. Be careful.

Not frustrated at all.... Only involvement that i have with that aircraft is that it was offered for sale to our VVIP fleet

I just find it humorous that when presented with facts, people immediately believe that these facts are wrong.

Good luck with the interview.

Wink VVIP Interviews

Quote "what I am curious about is what sort of things can I expect at the interview (really this is something that I haven't thought about before with 15 years commercial experience).
If anyone can help me with info on rostering (would I get one?)
How much notice on a call out?
Is it possible to commute from another country?
Is it usually a set salary or would flight pay be added too?
Do you get chance to have crew rest on long flights?
Of couse I will ask these questions in my interview but as they say, forewarned is forearmed!"
ROSTERING - depends on how big the operation, but if you're based somewhere it's 24/7 with phone and pager
CALL OUT - yes, how long is a piece of string? if the aircraft if big and the flight ops is small they may not be able to go within a couple of hours but we used to "scramble" in about an hour or so
COMMUTE - No, if you work rotation you are there for that time and at the end they give you a ticket back to your home
SALARY - generally per month, plus per diem daily depending on your location or deal- don't understand what you mean by flight pay it's not a charter
CREW REST - if it's a single operation not really on bigger crew then maybe but not long and not like commercial where you go off to bunk rest for a couple of hours on long sectors, hah those days are gone and look forward to 12 hours flying plus 1.5 before and maybe 1 after to do the washing, +clean up, empty water tanks in cold desitnations, put the plane to bed etc etc
Have a good interview

777

Hi hoopla,
Donīt know if you are or were flying VVIP on B-777, but if you do have any info on, how many crew are on board, popular destinations, etc... would be nice to know...
And for example, if on your month on duty, when you are based, letīs say in jeddah, london or Paris... must you remain at the hotel room till they call you to fly, or if you do have the phone and pager, can you go out in the city... etc... Do they let you know where you are flying when they call you out?? or itīs a surprise till you get to the plane?? ha ha... any info would be appreciated... Thanks!!!

Lightbulb VVIP Interviews

Are you for real???
VVIP Operations are known to be very "let's get up and go somewhere today.... if they don't like the weather, shopping or done business/ had lunch with friends it's time to go asap!!!"
Destinations - oh please with a 777 you can go a vvvvv long way and trust me when they want to go from the sandpit to Brazil, here there and everywhere they will. Couldn't tell you how many you'll have on board in your Op, if it's completely private?
You're not chained to a hotel room, but it's not very funny when you've got dry cleaning, laundry put in, gone out for the day or whatever, then when the call to be in the lobby in 40 minutes, got to get back, shower, dress and pack... not to mention get the catering organised.
Most Ops expect you to keep flight arrangements very discreet, so how the heck do you think you know when you'll be in London, Paris, Nice, etc??
Duty time is exactly that, if you sit and wait for a week and it's somewhere nice lucky you, but it's not that easy to say what you'll get, so be very open minded and easy going that way you'll love the job
Good luck again

I will be 35 this year and I am thinking to apply to Royal Jet in Abu Dhabi. Does anybody know is there any age limit for crew to join in? Also do you have any useful info or tips what to expect, how is it generally to work there, money, colleagues, how many crew work on a plane etc. ???

Anybody heard something positive about them???

Thanks so much, Ex EK crew

Harrods Aviation don't operate any aircraft, to my knowledge. Fayair operate Mr Al Fayed's Gulfstream 550 (G-HRDS), and Air Harrods operate helicopters...
