Two seperate companies!

These are two seperate companies!

Elitejets is based in Dubai and has been around for a few years, they have not been recruiting crew this year, due to recession...

Elite Aviation is a new company that has just started up in Abu Dhabi and they were recruiting a few months ago for all staff! This was advertised on aviaitionjobsearch...

Hope that helps!

ps. just researched a bit - no email contact, just an address Elite Aviation LLC, po box 61461, Abu Dhabi. No website found as yet...

Dog eat dog?

Yes, its a bad time in the industry at the moment, we are all fighting for the same few jobs!!!

I have had 3 contracts fall through this year due to the recession.

I had to leave my last flying job as they broke the contract, leaving me in a junior position and in debt...

A few days ago, I was offered a nice VVIP position and accepted, then a day later I was told another FA had gone direct to the owner and basically stole my job!!!! Gutted, as I really needed the job and it was perfect for me. Thanks mate...

Now waiting to hear about another VVIP position, that I am shortlisted for - if this gets canned, I don't know what I'll do. Still got a mortgage to pay and no work and no income - aaarrrggh!

Ok, rant over - just feeling sorry for myself! But please don't let it be 'dog eat dog' even in these difficult times... Maybe I'm just too nice to do that...

Happy Landings ( soon I hope!)

Hi guys,

I have an interview with Amiri Flight, and have been in contact with Florence as well.

As I understand from these posts you will be on sby 24/7... That seems a bit much. For example in NAS you are on sby for one month, and then have the next month off! Seems more fair to me.

Is there anyone here who is currently working with them who could give an idea about the total salary for one month. I know it depends on how many days you are flying, but just to give an idea what to expect. And is it true that you need to share accommodation with another flight attendant?

And what is life like in Qatar. I have lived in the UAE and spent a lot of time in Bahrain, two places that I love. How does Qatar compare?

I am not afraid for a challenge, but I donīt want to work under a slave contract.

Thanks for any inside tips!

Standby 24/7 and you can't go home for the first six months. They also have a one year binding contract and if you leave before you have to reimburst certain costs.

Two people in each house or bungalow. I know that they have had a compound for the Amiri crew but also heard it's full at the moment.

Qatar is probably somewhere between Bahrain and the UAE...

Thanks for the info Emma Gemma.

I wouldn't mind sharing in the beginning, but I would much rather prefer to have a life and place of my own. I have already done that falt sharing thing with cabin crew before...It's not the real world. Any chance you can get an allownce for living alone?

You would need at least flying experience to even be considered...

How much depends on the company, but around 2-3 years flying should be fine to get started...

But its a hard field to get a foot in the door!

Working conditions all depend on which airline/region you want to work for..

Abu Dhabi base

Hi!

I applied for this company in February and I was invited for an assessment in April. (I was very surprised they answered to me at all!)

Unfortunately, I was NOT successful.

There were 7 girls (all native English speaker beside me), all of them with very good background. You need to be under 31 and very well groomed. They introduced the package and the working conditions. We had to give away our training and educational certificates, then we had 2 group discussions. Lunch and the interviews in the afternoon. You also need to finish an online psychometric test. Everything was very professional.

If you are selected for this assessment day, you will receive an e-mail with ALL the details. So, don't worry, they will let you know everything before you go.

I'm not sure I can write numbers here, so...

Basic Salary is amazing: more than I expected.
Accomodation allowance is great: you can rent a one-bedroom in the Marina in Dubai.
The allowance for your duty day is 650 dirham.
According to my source: tips are great as well.

You are on standby 24/7 but usually they let you know a couple days before where and when you have to go.

They offer you a two-year contract.

Elite Aviation

Their first aircraft just showed up in Abu Dhabi, nice colors.
The aircraft is operated by a European operation so I don't think they'll be hiring soon. Maybe in the future?

Kelly,

As you are Canadian take a look at Sterling Aviation Services Inc. out of Calgary. They also do training and provide contract flight attendants to Skyservice Business Aviation.

I am not familiar with 'Above and Beyond', however, many of these companies are teaching you the VERY basic of what you need to know. And $3000US + flt + accom = a lot of dough!
