iPad/iPhone applications - Biz Jet operators

I'm curios to get some info on what kind of electronic gadgets your Business/Corporate Jet operator are using and makes available to crew?

I'm particular interested in terms of iPad (IOS) applications (software) etc.?

In our operations we have one iPad available pr. aircraft and this one would have pre-installed Planebook, Jeppesen Flightdeck, Aeroweather, Goodreader etc.

I feel we could have something a bit more integrated - some kind of custom made IOS application - where roster, emails etc., company documents etc. would be available all through one app.

Cheers,

I like Flight Timer:
Home

It automatically logs block time and locations using iPhone sensors, then exports it to LogTenPro - great for bizjet pilots as on busy days I struggle to remember at the end of the day where I have been!

Everything you can imagine is available for mobile devices now.
As an example,
Rosterbuster is an easy to use app for rostering on Apple and android products. You can trial for a free month using this link -

Well allot has changed in 4 years! I'm not really a much of an Apple product fan, but after having been forced by my new job to get an iPAD, Im impressed with the capabilities in spite of the many irritating i-device "isms"

Here in the US, Foreflight is the big thing in flight software functionality. It really is quite amazing how much info can be displayed on an iPad using Foreflight. They even closed a deal to integrate Jepp recently. So now you can fly around with enroute chart, IAP or taxi diagram displayed with your very precise position on the chart depicted when you use a bluetooth connected GPS. There is a new device you can now buy that will import XM weather, Doppler wx RADAR and traffic information service into the foreflight app on the iPad too. THe Ipad can also act as a stby attitude indicator and Foreflight has a terrain database and acts as a pseudo terrain awareness display. You can create and store flight plans as well as file them and receive wx briefings. There is also provision to store documents like AFMs, checklists, and books galore. Our company is almost entirely paperless on the flight ops side of the house, with the iPads being the primary information medium for pilots.

We still carry the AFM and legal documents in the plane but that's about all that isn't stored in Foreflight. Interesting times...

Well in a time where Jeppesen is planning to stop printing paper charts there's not much choice to not have an efb.
Other charts providers stopped printing them already.

Take a look at the new Jeppesen Aviator app - it might just do what you want!

Hi,

What about "Chinese Airline Pilote CAAC exam prep" App ?

Is it helpful to pass it ?

Any feedback would be nice :-)

It costs 170€!!

Maybe start a new thread in the regional forum then. It's not really an app the average biz jet pilot would use...

2017 Holdover times app

The Pilots Atlas app

EU OPS FTL calculator app

Met Office app

Biz jet crew roster planner?

Talking about useful apps, I am looking for one to help me plan a roster for a three man crew. It would be nice if each crew member had the same app and the roster remained synchronised between devices. I'm using excell at the moment but it's fiddly and doesn't synchronise.

There are a lot of roster apps for airline crews but they all download the roster from company servers, we just need to create and share between the three of us.

Any suggestions?

Create a shared calendar on google (which can sync between your phones / iPads / laptops)
