Monday, 27 January, 2003, 21:45 GMT Damaged jet to make emergency landing A light aircraft with two people on board is attempting an emergency landing at Glasgow Airport after sustaining damage to its undercarriage. The damage is believed to have happened earlier tonight as the business jet attempted to land at Aberdeen airport in high winds. The pilot was advised to head for Glasgow Airport. Emergency crews are waiting to give him any assistance they can when he makes his next attempt to bring the aircraft down. More soon.

Looks like complete non-event. A/C appears to have rolled to a stop on RWY23 normally-U/C intact, followed by two or three emergency vehicles (as per normal procedure) For the purposes of the tabloid press, probably not really worth printing about. -edit and for the purpose of Scotland Today's poor excuse for a news channel it really wasn't dramatic at all!! There must've been some stirring music in the background though to help build up the excitement.

Scottish TV providing the usual amateurish, shrill coverage. A special report from a very excited lassie at the airport, milking the story for all it's worth. Danger, Drama, Emergency, Near death !!! WOW !

No cats stuck up trees or football games to report on. It must have been the only thing happening that could include the word 'Scotland' in the report. Glad that no one was hurt though.

Crew
Portuguese crew, possibly ex-military given Net Jets recruitment policy. Heard that it was nose-wheel/tyre damage only.
