Last Lear 60XR-430 built being parted out ???

Dodson International Parts of Rantoul, Kansas bought Learjet 60XR 60-430 - listed as having only 90 hours total time.

She was delivered new on Nov 24 2013 as N40146 to Monterrey Mexico - to new owner as XA-JWM - replacing Lear 60-221 XA-JWM. She was photographed at KFLL in Jan 2014.

Bombardier announced a 'temporary' halt to Lear 60 production and 60-430 was the last one off the line.

Anybody know what/when happened to cause her to be parted out???

Bareplane - thanx for that - was going to check the salvage sites - AIG had the NetJets Gullfstream that got totaled in Oakland when a van ran into it - appreciate this!!

In Montreal for Formula One week - looking forward to seeing Lewis Hamilton's Challenger 605 - when they picked it up new - they flew it to Hawaii - first flight - they destroyed (someone whose name starts with N) the interior - had to be returned for new interior after that!!!

Thanks Bareplane,

Are they going to rename the facility to Muppet Maintenance or similar?

Accidents happen but I don't/won't understand how you accidentally start an engine in that environment to the extent the aircraft is moving. Surely you'd abandon the start or firewall shutoff the thing at the expense of the engine long before it got that far?!

Am I missing something?

What I really would like to see on those pictures is a man who did this. His face right after the thing happend. Way he explained himself. A little bit more of description of the situation which led to that incident... That would be something

Far be it from me to cast aspersions but.....

I bought one of the last few off the line from Bombardier for one of my Customers. We basically stole it in terms of purchase price. In fact, Bluebook gave a value of some US$5m more than what we paid for it.

I wonder what the insured value was?

True but than again Blue Book is always outdated and even worse: trying to get a blue book value for real on any lear product is totally impossible lately....
