Singapore alternatives?

What are some of the alternatives and ground transport times for less expensive airports, within a practical distance of Singapore, but good service level. Just received a Singapore quote and what……hello…..everyone used to being stripped to the bone for services and handling?

Example 330 for crew transport to/from hotel…..

Nearly 2000 for basic handling and agent coordination, and 140 for agent´s travel to airport……sorry, we spend a lot but this is taking the pXXX, if you ask me.

Have you checked both Seletar and Changi?

I've never been there but Senai in Malaysia appears to be the closest alternative:

Alternatives at WSSL itself?

Is there a suggested best choice of handler at WSSL, a balance of service and costs?

Thanks again…

WMKJ Senai is your only realistic alternative if you want to be within reach of Singapore, and they actually have some quite acceptable hotel choices.

Universal is really the only choice going in Seletar. Given the limitations of space in both Changi and Seletar, they don't really need to give anybody a discount.

Universal is not the only choice at Seletar.

Transport

If you do use Senai this company from memory is around $150 SGD each way to CBD Singapore hotels from Senai. From Seletsr to town cheap.

Don't forget Uber is great in Singapore, Uber exec and Uber larger vehicles to!

Contact Raymond Koh at Kool Limos:

Beware though if you do use Senai if you are coming over the border into Singapore during peak periods expect over an hour to get through customs and immigration, that's either link. Off peak through Tuas link should be a breeze.

Just ask Raymond to pack some beers on ice!

Cheers,

GA.

Last time I went thru Seletar I self handled, but it was a ferry flight.

We had organised Hawker Pacific but they didn't show so we self handled.

Just arrive during normal business hours.

The big problem with Seletar is getting a taxi during peak. But if you are doing it on the cheap there is an excellent bus service almost at the door.

If you want more detail PM

Hawker Pacific has changed a lot since December 2015, for the best, I'm the new FBO Supervisor, started to kick some butts!

WSSL Seletar is your best option.

Just note there is no approach into WSSL so you have to hold WSSS as an alternate, they are used to this. Generally the weather is fine in Singapore and if there is any CB activity it only lasts for 30 minutes.

Singapore is an easy asian country with the same service and expertise you would expect in USA and Europe.

MAJ Simco
Jet Aviation
Universal
Hawker Pacific
Wings Over Asia

All do handling. Based on a Super Mid Aircraft you would expect to pay $800-1500 USD for handling, tell them you're not paying for airside transport and the stupid communication fee they throw in. $130-150 for Lav/water.

Fuel is expensive compared to Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia but cheaper then Hong Kong.

Get catering from hotel as the airport catering through SATS catering is terrible and charge $150 to deliver it.

Just get a taxi to your Hotel $17-25 depending on traffic.

MAJ Simco seem to be the best value and Universal probably have the best capabilities.
