Northern QLD and N.T. Jobs

As many would have read something similar before, I still struggle to get some details out of similar threads. Please be patient and I would really appreciate your help

I will obtain my CPL and IR with ~250TT in a few months time and the old fashion bush flying seems to be my only way out since I won't be able to afford self-sponsored cadetship or similar.

I have a few places in mind like townsville, mackay and along north queensland to start my initial job hunting. Has anyone here done this? If so, where would you say I should start. I heard weather in Darwin is absurd and without prior experience, you won't be likely to land a job at all, is this true?

I'm also considering a NVFR rating, is it worth it? or should I hold back for a little?

Any suggestions are welcome

West, don't bother with TL or Mackay. IR allows privileges of NVFR, so no need.
Good luck

The Dununda forum might be better than this one.

Any where that looks good to live is rarely the place for a low houred pilot.
Eg Darwin, Cairns etc, usually that's where you go once you have experience and are looking at twin etc operations.

Torres used to take low houred guys, a few of their operations have bases in Cairns - although my info is about 15 years out of date.

I don't know what's inland, maybe Mt Isa? Normanton? Burketown? A few gained a few hundred hours on stations before looking to bigger stuff.

Don't forget NT. Kakadu etc. WA, Kununurra and Broome/Derby.

This is a world wide forum with ATM 33 viewers. Take a moment to count the threads relevant to your situation - I think there will much more info about corporate jet ops in Europe than GA in Aus.

On the other hand, scroll up and look at the two Australian threads. Australia, New Zealand & The Pacific (173 viewers) and The Pacific; General Aviation & Questions (143 viewers). Count the relevant threads - maybe post your question there?

Try looking in the aviation supplement of The Australian every Friday and check out the AFAP web site for pilot vacancies.

Good luck with your training and job hunting.

Edit;
Don't start a new thread, find the relevant thread and ask there.... Your's is an oft asked question and you will get more help by not duplicating threads
