A couple of weeks ago, at the suggestion of Universal, we repositioned the aircraft at ZBTJ (Tianjin). It wasn't as bad as I thought it might be and in some cases better (customs, documentation) than Capital. Unfortunately, it is a sign of the times if and when ZBAA makes more ramp space or the new airport is finished.

The restrictions are formidible - but only to transients and those lower down the food chain. With the appropriate status and/or connections the restrictions may be formally waived.

Just take a look at the number of aircraft parked long-term in Beijing. Not all of them are there because their owners are in jail!
