KyleRB, The accident at Birmingham was due to black ice on the shaded side of the aircraft that was invisible. Slats/no slats makes no difference to de-icing requirements.
If your boss is looking for 3000nm aircraft and a challenger sized cabin have you thought about the Phoenix? This has twice the cabin of the 604 for the same price and is being offered as an almost brand-new aircraft supported by new warenties and a tip to tail maintenance programme based upon much lower spare part pricing of the CRJ aircraft which is the base aircraft before conversion.
Project Phoenix
