Netjets Europe Beech 1900D Job

I know that I saw an advert in FI for a job on the 1900D a few months ago. I presume the aircraft is used to shuttle maintenance and aircrews around Europe to various aircraft (some broken down, etc). Doesn't sound like a bad gig because you basically get to see many of the same airfields and variety - you just don't get the passenger interaction.

Does anyone know much about the 1900D operation? I believe it is based in the London area (Northolt or Luton). Do they hire occasionally onto that airplane? Do the 1900D pilots eventually move onto the jet fleet after a set period of time? What's QOL/schedule on that airplane - does it match the jet fleet or is it different?

Here's a recent picture:

It looks like a nice airplane.

As far as i know;
they hire people with preferential previous B1900D experience ans pay about half of jet salaries...

Yes, people do progress from the "CS-DOC" to the jetfleets, don't know timeframes or anything.

Hope it helps,

They do go from the 1900 t0 the jets but until then it is a very different deal. Salaries for a start, possibility to bid for airplanes etc...
Also when they do transfer from a Captain position on the 1900, it is as an FO on the jets. For them to become Captain, they will be required to undergo the normal upgrade path within NJE (Seniority, aptitude, ground scool, upgrade sim and line training).
Captains to be on the 1900 are normally type rated with experience on type. FOs,... It varies but people joining will have turboprop time (406, 200, ...)

That's the deal. I see the 1900 as an opportunity for people to join NJE without the usual experience required to go onto the jets. It also could be considered as a part time fleet since one the aircraft is on maintenance, it is holiday for everybody on the fleet.

+s and -s.... Weigh it and make up your mind on the interview day.

I'm a regular passenger on DOC...... when it's serviceable!
This year it has been out of action for about 4 months. With 3 crews it makes for an easy life up front.

Like all Netjets pilots you will be very well looked after by a large team of staff catering for your every need. They are soon opening an office to help you count your money, however on the Beech there wont be as many zeros as the jet drivers.

The a/c is on LAMS so requires maintenence every 50hrs. It is not currently maintained by Netjets so flys almost as many hours to get serviced as it does work. Like all the Netjets fleet, it is not based anywhere. It does however usually park up at Luton as this is conveinient.

You will have to expect plans to change all the time. Even when you think you are on route the Satcom will ring and you will drop in somewhere else to deliver the customers favourite wine or help start a jet thats gone tech.

All the pilots on DOC have been great and seem to enjoy it. Many have moved on to bigger (and smaller) things within the company.

I'm a current CS-DOCtor. If you are seriously considering this then PM me and I can give you the full low down.

As already stated, it has its ups and downs depending on your point of view. Issues still to be resolved around seniority and fleet changes etc but not a bad little operation all in all. If you really 'want in' at Netjets then the DOC is good way through the back door..... particularly at the moment if you have the hours/experience to go straight in as Capt.

Buzz

ps,who are you Brizeguy ? I must have flown you somewhere.
