Biz Jets, Ag Flying, GA etc.The place for discussion of issues related to corporate, Ag and GA aviation. If you're a professional pilot and don't fly for the airlines then try here.
Yesterday I heard that JR is calling for the interview some pilots of exFutura airline company. This company went to bankrupt a few months ago in Spain.
So the preference is being given to airline pilots this is the fact.
I can not understand, there is so many good charters airman with no job, most of them good professionals but they prefer airline people experience who never had contact with the passanger requirements or get it touch with the handling to coordinate a limosine for example...
Samca - Common! So arranging a limousine is difficult to do? This would be a reason to hire corporate pilots in favor of airline pilots? You have to come up with something better then that I'm afraid.
If JR wants airline pilots then who are we to judge this?
You are so right but the reason they cannot come into the market is that there is no market to speak of at the moment.
A market is where suppliers come to sell their products at a fare price with a modest profit included and buyers come to buy those products.
At the moment there are some suppliers selling their products below cost and still the buyer wants a reduction on that price! There is no market. There is excess supply over demand so their business plan is seriously flawed. Anyone seriously considering giving up a job to join them needs their licence revoked on the grounds of mentally unsuitable to hold a professional licence.
I made some calls to finally get through to the women doing the filtering on the applications at CTC on behalf of Jetrepublic. Despite the website saying "1500 minimum flying hours for first officer", what is actually being applied/wanted is minimum 1500 multi engine or jet hours.
Thank you for completing the Jet Republic online application form.
We are pleased to inform you that your application has now been received by the Selection Team for further review. We apologise for any confusion previously caused as we were experiencing some system errors and your application was placed on hold in error.
We will be in contact with you again in the near future regarding your application result.

I´m full ATPL JAA with 2000 TT and 800 jet time and type rated in c500/550/560.
A court injunction is preventing Jet Republic, the upstart business jet company, from hiring workers recently employed by its main rival NetJets Europe, owned by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway.
The injunction was granted by a Portuguese municipal court in July 2008 after Jet Republic was alleged to have poached two of NetJets' top management team, including a former UK director of finance, and approached others.
But its effect has been felt more keenly in recent weeks because the deteriorating economic climate has led NetJets Europe to arrange the voluntary redundancy of 87 staff members and reduced working hours for 300 others.
Jet Republic, which is hiring between five and ten new people each month, says that although the injunction only refers to current NetJets staff, it has been advised by its lawyers to avoid former NetJets staff for fear of breaching the order.
Jonathan Breeze, chief executive and founder of Jet Republic and a former commercial director of NetJets Europe, said that as a result, "hundreds" of job applications were essentially in limbo and added that it was hard to explain to candidates that they were not being assessed for legal reasons.
"As an employee I would want to be able to get any job that was advertised and to be restricted from that would seem unfair," he said.
The problem is set to persist as Jet Republic hopes to hire 1,000 new staff over the next five years and the current temporary injunction runs until February 2010 with the possibility of an extension. Mr Breeze said he would fight the injunction in the courts.
Robert Dranitzke, chief operating officer of NetJets Europe, insisted the injunction only affected current workers and that the company had taken the unusual step because its people were "being harassed".
Jet Republic said it had acted in accordance with industry practice.
"We welcome all new entrants into the industry and wish them the best of luck. Competition is good for the industry and for the customer," Mr Dranitzke said.
NetJets Europe is the dominant market operator and a pioneer of fractional ownership of private jets. It has more than 1,900 employees, 1,600 customers and 165 aircraft. But the global downturn has hit the company with clients flying less and aircraft prices falling.
Is it true they have a 6/4 roster is that going to work for commuters,I guess they've pitched it below the Netjets 6/5 which I believe was giving too much away to the workforce ?
I see in today's Daily Telegraph that JB's ego still knows no bounds, as bad as when we flew together in NJ:
Airline boss follows his herd instinct
Not every airline is suffering a decline in numbers due to swine flu. Jet Republic, a private charter start-up, saw inquiries tick up a fifth between March and June because, chief executive Jonathan Breeze claims, travelling by Learjet means wealthy individuals "don't have to fly with other members of the public, and therefore reduce the chances of catching swine flu".
Pigs in cattle class. How sensitive of the super-rich.
I guess they're short of business inquiries if theyre trying the charter model too (although a fifth increase could be construed as only 2 more if youve only had 10! Good spin though)- all those listed website directors must be burrning through the cash quickly
