Frankfurt with an CJ3

Hi all,
I'm quite new in the corporate world. Next week my boss (and airplane owner) want to flight to Frankfurt. On the flight side I feel confortable with EDDF. But I have so doubt with the slot there. Did I need a SCR to fly there?? I know that there's even Egelsbach but I prefer to fly to EDDF due to better landside structure (car rent and catering).

Regards

That's amazing. Most Corporate pilots I know always look for the smaller airport as the costs are much lower, landing slots are not usually required, and turnround is loads quicker!

The added bonus of Corporate flying from the passengers point of view is the ability to keep AWAY from places like Frankfurt with all it's security and other nonsense, and go to where they want to be, and leave when they want to leave, rather than when and where the schedule takes them.

I think you'd be pleasantly surprised how efficient it can be at Egelsbach if you arrange things in advance.

Although weather can be a limiting factor, Egglesbach is excellent, you can even get the pax's transport to meet them at the door of the aircraft! Highly recommended, excellent restaurant and they are very helpful.

Check:

http://www.egelsbach-airport.com/1index.html

Under Pilotinfo youŽll find a lot useful stuff...

You donŽt really need handling there. Guys at the "Luftaufsicht" very helpful.

BA299,

You want to fly in on a GLEX? EDFE probably to small for that...
If you go to Hahn, be aware of the fact that it is in the woods...
There is a route planner on Hahn Airport homepage:
http://www.hahn-airport.de/default.a...u=by_car&cc=en
They do have a dedicated GAT, but its not shiny one. (but I havent been there for 3 years so maybe it changed)

http://www.hahn-airport.de/default.aspx?menu=gat&cc=en

Usually it shouldnŽt be a prob to park 3 days in EDDF, but getting the slots might be tricky...

I know that EDFE is a too small for the global. So i'm looking for some other airports.
I looked at the website at the slot coordinator and the it look dramatic bad.
Somebody suggested me to go to EDDK but for me it is too far (about 2 hrs by car).

Call them (slotcoordinator)...usually they are very helpful. Numbers on the webpage.

EDFH is an alternative as they are 24/24...

EDDK - downtown Frankfurt is 176 km, 150 of it Autobahn.

EDFH - downtown Frankfurt is 122 km, 85 of it Autobahn.
