Mods - couldn't this be moved to Where are they now?

I knew he'd been very poorly lately and what with the unexpected loss of his son, Grant last year, I think the end was hastened. Dudley was an enigma and sadly, probably one of the last in commercial aviation. The stories must be legion and I have reminded myself of some of those I knew since hearing the sad news. Although his style would not be in keeping with current political correctness standards, I feel the airline industry is the poorer for not having characters like him around any longer.

RIP Duds

I also knew Dudley well in Virgin and enjoyed his company. He upgraded me in the sim in LHR very many years ago and the subsequent refreshments left me very unwell the next day!

I am very sorry to hear of his passing - RIP.
