Mystery aircrash boscombe dowm95/96

I remember reading an article in airforce monthly around 97/98 of a incident at boscombe down .the incident is rather a mystery around96/97 something crashed the whole area was closed of including the a303 main road rumour had it this was the so called aurora the Americans where involved the British also rumours a il76 or an124 was used to collect the remains any ideas?

Try Googling "Black Day at Boscombe Down". Was it that one?

It seems this was the story I read also what is funny is that I read this article while going to lasvegas and when landed the mystery 737 to Area 51 are based at Macarren? Thanks for the info

Whatever it was, the public were kept at a distance and the rest is conjecture. I wonder if it ever flew in service in the intervening years ?
