BBMF Transit routes
Could someone point me towards the web address detailing the transit routes to and from airshows taken by the BBMF aircraft ? Living in the west side of the Malvern hills I don't get to see historic aircraft very often and would love to see the 2 Lancs together.

Thanks for looking. If anyone pilots or otherwise knows of anything interesting using the M5 or River Severn to navigate I would appreciate the heads up. Having grown up near North Weald I was used to regular sightings.

Thanks for that Nige321. I hope to be in the area on Saturday and/or Sunday but doubt I will have time to go into the Combined Ops show, may have to chance it and hope I see them flying.

Yes seeing the two Lancs together would be somthing Hopefully they avoid built up areas...apparently from 1000Ft AGL. if you loose an engine in the Spitfire, you can draw an imaginary line between the nose and the wing tip because that's where you're going. The prop windmilling becomes a huge air brake. So would be interesting to see at what sort of alt they transit at. The glide can be stretched a lot by pulling the prop pitch to fully coarse, but I think the Spitfire becomes a different animal engine out, compared the beautiful, forgiving and communicative flying machine she is under power.
The BBMF are operating out of Biggin Hill to the Eastbourne air show, the combine ops show at Headcorn and also the Herne Bay show. So hopefully in North Kent the next 4 days we should see or at least hear them!

does anyone know if either of the Lancasters (or any other BBMF aircraft) carries a transponder?
It would be helpful to be able to track them on FR24.

The Canadian Lancaster X was broadcasting on FR24 for her flight over the pond. Just search for CGVRA

Beautiful indeed!
BBC News - Lancaster bombers fly in tandem over Lincolnshire
Shame the BBC camera's mic is not up to getting a good recording of 8 Merlins!
Cheers for the reg correction Liffy.

Eastbourne Airshow
Managed to park my boat off the front at Eastbourne this afternoon. The sight of two Lancasters turning directly overhead is beyond words The two Spits were fantastic, a clipped wing model, (possibly Griffon engined?), and a PRU blue job. Pair 'em up with the Lancs and, oh, excuse me there's something in my eye
