Neil Williams writes . . .

World renowned aerobatic pilot Neil Williams was also acclaimed for his writing skills. In the 1970s he wrote several articles for Shell Aviation News. The diversity of topics ranged from the tiny pre-war De Havilland Humming Bird to the F28 commuter jet. Neil was highly regarded as a Spitfire display pilot and as a member of the Rothmans aerobatic team. The link below gives access to Neil's SAN articles.

Many thanks Discorde! A spot of reading material for the weekend

I was at White Waltham that weekend (so was PPRuNe Pop), had no inkling from the crowd line that Neil was having such a frenetic one!

Cheers

Airborne has just been republished - whether with some additional chapters based on some of his other articles for Shell, Pilot and the Tiger Rag I know not.

Might treat meself to a new copy, my original is well thumbed now.

That is very good news. My original copy of 'Airborne' was autographed by Neil Williams, whilst standing on the wing of G-AYAK at Booker. I had just gained my PPL. Two weeks later [or thereabouts ], he was no longer with us. I lent the book to someone, who never returned it, and I forget who it was.
