Our plane arrived from Burma!

No, not a Spitfire!

It has been in this leaky container for more than 15 years!

But it does not look too bad...

...not too bad at all really.
This Provost is the second aircraft we received at our museum this week, the other one is a very nicely packed Aermacchi.. from the RNZAF.

Google "Ashburton Aviation Museum" if you please!

Is the Provost in good enough condition to consider rebuilding it to flying condition?

I won't ask about the Aerrmachi

The Provost appears to my unpracticed eyes to be in good condition for restoration and is (I understand) mostly complete. I would hazard that it stood up to storage very well.

However we will not be flying either aircraft but neither will we do doing anything deliverately that would preclude that in the future.

Our museum does not have any flying exhibits, except the DC3, although a few of the exhibits actually flew here and were in airworthy condition when they went on display.
