Curious

Hey guys,
I bought a photo album at an estate sale. I was flipping through it and I found photo's of every type of a/c in the Pacific during WWII.
There was one though that puzzled me and I haven't been able to figure out what it is. So I figured I would jump on here and let the gurus take a crack at it. Anyone have any idea?
Sorry for the size I don't know how to make it smaller.
